I had problems unlocking the bootloader of my Nexus 5! The device was recognized and the folders were visible but was not detected when switched off. So I used "platform-tools" under Linux Mint (because under Windows 10 I have had problems) and, after having opened the folder of platform-tools as administrator, I typed the command lines, but with the smartphone turned on. It was successful unlocked. (Sorry for my English language which is not good)

@dobey Thanks, that explains the difficulty. I only use stable channel hence I did not know the other channels had a different system. Nor did I know what OTA stood for.

@AppLee Thank you for the welcome and comfortable response. Do I understand that the process of remmont the device, such as through ssh, is a difficult thing, or trying to access from an outside party to my information is not possible, and as for applications, I use the device as a means of communication and messages, no more. What attracted me the most to switch to UT was the privacy it provided to the user, so I would like to rest more.

@AppLee said in UBports on Distrowatch: @Fla That's probably only the project description. Exactly, the ranking change continuously and the news updates are frequent but does not change the editing date of the project description.

@dobey said in Install editor / python: And we do not support installing additional deb packages in the rootfs. You don't support but don't forbide ^^ It can be done at user own risk and OTA, thus system, break.

Morph Browser is the preinstalled browser and a good one in my opinion. Installing Firefox via libertine or Anbox should work but is probably not the best user-experience.

The PineTab has some of its own unique challenges. The most noticeable one is that the screen only renders in landscape mode and does not auto rotate. Also, if you would buy the integrated keyboard cover, there is a bug that stops the mouse from moving over the whole screen when using the integrated trackpad. I haven't tried it with an external mouse, so I don't know if it as an issue with the trackpad or a screen issue with the pointer. Of course these bugs are under investigation. Other than those two, Ubuntu Touch works much the same on the PineTab as on the PinePhone, as @poVoq mentioned.

Actually PostmarketOS support for the OnePlus2 seems relatively complete: https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/OnePlus_Two_(oneplus-oneplus2) As for the UT port... looks like no one is working on that for a while now, so I doubt "hope" is sufficient here

Samba is buggy on uTouch. Try to access your samba server via file explorer app, and prey for it to work.

Works for Opel Insignia handsfree, I can test for some other cars as well. I don't have much data on this but to me it feels like this was a general issue, not specific to particular BT sets...

@throwaway Sorry but Ubuntu Touch cannot be flashed from an external sd card unless it's on a PinePhone There is an app ISODrive that lets you run an OS from your phone like on a flash drive. Maybe thats what you where remembering. There was a port started for the Moto g but I don't think much has happened for some time https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io/

@danqo6 said in Podbird lacks faster playback speed settings.: If I remember correctly, that bug affected only pinephone, in code was for some reason playback speed set to x3 https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~michael-sheldon/podbird/trunk/revision/204 and almost no phone was affected with that Hi danqo6. I'm using a FP2.
