@flohack yes that's sad. On the other side Postmarket always said that their goal is to run vanilla Linux (https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/Mainlining) so I'm not surprised they are putting their resources there and not on Halium.

@applee Interesting, I did not post anything on the forum within the past 3 weeks, so I am not sure where this post of mine time-stamped as "a day ago" came from ?? Nevertheless the link I would refer to is this one http://docs.ubports.com/en/latest/userguide/advanceduse/ssh.html?highlight=ssh Hope this helps @jesica but I still don't understand how I would have posted a reply to her less than 24h ago.....

@applee said in Use Nexus 5 or OnePlus One as PC Webcam?: One would need to modify heavily the system to accommodate for such new feature. Not necessarily. One could write an app I guess, which uses QML/Qt components to control the camera, and serve the video and audio streams over rtsp or something on WiFI.

@swankybarbecue4 We don't officially support dual boot so advice might be a bit short in supply.

@Flohack that sounds reasonable. Thank you. It would be interesting to find out how many of us would go for this "feature" or @tupp would be great to find out how many people would love to go for something which would completely leave out this "phoning home" especially if it is serving important role (push notifications) and some order in chaos (how many users of which device)

@Aury88 Right. We need to get some more features implemented so that things work better on Wayland in general, and so we can bridge things like permissions prompts and content hub to work appropriately when flatpak apps request things. There will likely still be plenty of sticking points though.

@Etcher I don't understand. You want to burn (flash ?) APSync to Ubuntu Touch from a version made (built) for Raspberry Pi ? Can you explain a little more what you want to achieve ?

@Capsia Please let me and @NeoTheThird squash this dat in a more useful representation. The current maturity is a gut feeling value and need to be replaced with a better value from the actual test results. However, it will be still a bit hard to compare devices with each other, aas we have fully to rely on what porters think its working. There is no good QA process when we do not have a single QA team that can test all devices side by side. Also, my I know, who talked with you from the foundation side to actually work on this page?

@poVoq What I meant by that is that if you trust Teleports code, then you can trust that the version delivered by the open store is consistant with the repository. Because you can check the sources from a git and the install a package that you don't know how they got built. That's a chain of trust, I trust Florian hence its reviews hence Teleports, I trust UBports hence the open store, so I trust the click package delivered by the open store for Teleports. You are right to point out that the open store doesn't make all apps safe. But if you know and trust the source and if you trust the platform, then you can relax.

It is very easy to install UT. I have done the same with my Manjora Pinephone. I downloaded the latest jumpdrive and the UT image. then i used balenaEtcher to flash 2 SD cards. One with the latest jumpdrive version and one with the UT image for the Pinephone. You only need the SD card with the UT image to test how the OS runs. The SD card with jumpdrive is needed to write the UT image to the internal memory with balenaEtcher. There are really good instructions in the forum.
