@MarkG_108 I did see that, but it doesn't show much detail as to what's working and what's not (or which channel the features are working on). It also doesn't reflect all of the currently ported devices...

@mh4it with CDMA the network wont work out of the box on UT, in order to get CDMA working (Sprint/Verizon) service you have to change ofono on the running system, then modify APNs, and even after all that there is no guarantee they will be able to send/receive SMS/MMS messages, my advice would be to set the device up as a mini tablet with no cellular service to allow experience of UT, and a GSM service if they wanna try it

@Flohack Got it, thanks! I'll check it out. @dobey Fair enough, I've had nothing but quick response times from Ubports and native apps. But I've done a thermal mod on my phone and have some headroom to play around with so I figured, why not?

Even if I have two days late (sorry, I didn't know the American thanksgiving day ), I think that BALCY with his huge work on morph-browser also specifically deserves a big thank you because without his work, the phones would only have rather limited functions... !!

Well, I'm glad to read that Ubuntu Touch takes privacy more seriously than does iOS. I've never used iOS nor do I plan to. OTOH, I did make a build of LineageOS 14.1 for the Nexus 5, to try it, and I will say, that it: offered to encrypt the entire phone if I so chose, and... gave the option of disallowing any apps that exceeded certain specified access settings (granted, I can't recall the exact settings it specified, but I do recall it giving some such option -- which I did take and which did not limit the basic functionality of the phone). I haven't yet seen anything close to this from Ubuntu Touch.

@WLBI said in Other uses for Convergence, presenter mode?: Everything is Web-Apps... But why using an web-app? Actually I can open any website in the browser, so I don't need extra app. Because webapps are confined browser instances, so profile data is not shared between them, and security issues and malware JavaScript from one site can't steal your cookies/data stored from another site in this case. Complaining to us that WhatsApp/Twitter/Snapchat/whatever don't provide native apps, doesn't change anything though. We can't fix their proprietary services to integrate properly with UT. We can make webapps and do some additional integration work to make using the web site nicer and feel more native on UT, though. If the native apps don't exist that you need, then it's best to ask the services you require to provide those apps, or try to develop alternatives. There's only a few of us working in our spare time on UT, and we can't build an OS and write all possible apps people might need, ourselves. We need people helping to do that. So feel free to help.

@utouchuser You could make webapp click packages instead, for web sites you use frequently. This way, each web site will be run in its own confined browser instance with its own separate profile. This way, malicious javascript could not read data for other sites you use, for example, since the config would be a different browser profile on disk, in a different directory, which cannot be accessed.
