All those issues were introduced in the Unity8/mir but most of them are being worked on if not already fixed The keyboard showing in the external display has been closed just today I think. So for now, you have to restart unity8/reboot after plugging in the external display for it work. Scaling is fine in the right side of the screen but if you want, you can set system scaling to 8 (1080p monitor) so that everything looks fine.

Now an article in english: https://www.tellerreport.com/tech/2020-01-02---social-media--data-protection-says-goodbye-to-twitter-.rkXF39YokL.html "The hope of the German supervisory authorities, ..., is that Facebook and Twitter will give in and make their service more privacy-friendly as soon as it becomes clear that they are not being used by authorities and companies tolerate."

Just got the OPO to boot into UT, had to use the installer. Battery now showing 100% so that part is fixed but not the charging issue. POWER_SUPPLY_NAME=battery POWER_SUPPLY_CHARGING_ENABLED=1 POWER_SUPPLY_STATUS=Charging POWER_SUPPLY_CHARGE_TYPE=Fast POWER_SUPPLY_HEALTH=Good POWER_SUPPLY_PRESENT=1 POWER_SUPPLY_ONLINE=1 POWER_SUPPLY_TECHNOLOGY=Li-ion POWER_SUPPLY_VOLTAGE_MAX_DESIGN=4350000 POWER_SUPPLY_VOLTAGE_MIN_DESIGN=4400000 POWER_SUPPLY_VOLTAGE_NOW=4272000 POWER_SUPPLY_CAPACITY=100 POWER_SUPPLY_CURRENT_NOW=-274 POWER_SUPPLY_INPUT_CURRENT_MAX=100000 POWER_SUPPLY_INPUT_CURRENT_TRIM=44 POWER_SUPPLY_INPUT_CURRENT_SETTLED=0 POWER_SUPPLY_BYPASS_VCHG_LOOP_DEBOUNCER=0 POWER_SUPPLY_VOLTAGE_MIN=4300000 POWER_SUPPLY_INPUT_VOLTAGE_REGULATION=1 POWER_SUPPLY_CHARGE_FULL_DESIGN=0 POWER_SUPPLY_CHARGE_FULL=0 POWER_SUPPLY_TEMP=250 POWER_SUPPLY_TEMP_COOL=100 POWER_SUPPLY_TEMP_WARM=450 POWER_SUPPLY_SYSTEM_TEMP_LEVEL=0 POWER_SUPPLY_CYCLE_COUNT=0 POWER_SUPPLY_CHARGE_NOW=4922 POWER_SUPPLY_CHARGE_TIMEOUT=0 POWER_SUPPLY_AUTHENTICATE=1 EDIT: As those, unlike me who pay attension can see from the above the new battery is in fact charging. The indicator is now working after about 20 Mins. I have a feeling that at some point trying to sort this out I messed up the OS and it needed reinstalling before it would boot. So good news.

Here is a really interesting lecture about how software development is been touched by climate change (and the developers of the video didn't come on the idea to offer the video in a low resulution - as it should already be standard - separated audio tracks in different languages available https://media.ccc.de/v/36c3-10852-wie_klimafreundlich_ist_software#t=1

A few people have tried so far, but no one was successful. It basically boots but then somehow keeps crashing the display environment (unity8) - I am afraid we will never get there.

If Halium would be working and if people can install UT on a large set of (even old) smartphones - I would write a message to Süddeutsche. But until only 'some' phones are available.... Hmm ;/ UT has some time left I would argue....

The login screen is always shown in the 'native orientation' of the device it is shown on. For tablets (or more accurately any screen size that is larger than some threshold value) this will be landscape. On most phones it is portrait. The real issue is that the login screen does not rotate based on the orientation of the device. There is already a discussion about this in the issue tracker. Maybe you would like to add your experience / expectation / point of view. The desktop issue is an interesting one. I would encourage you to check if there is already an issue raised against this on GitHub, and if not, to do so yourself. At the very least it will get the conversation going.

I have recently tried flashing LineageOS on a Nexus 5. As @MarkG_108 said I still happen to have the UT bootloader I think (as a picture comes up on booting that Nexus 5 is powered by Ubports or something like that). I ran in to multiple issues reinstalling stock Android (to test that first) but finally it worked fine, I downloaded the .img files from here and flashed each .img file individually with fastboot (like "fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img" or "fastboot flash system system.img" etc. I think from the folder that contained the images). I think I got the idea from this guide. This booted to normal Android I think with no issues (?). I had some issues connecting to fastboot and adb and I don't remember what I did to fix it but I just kept looking up what to do (like searching "how to fix fastboot devices not showing anything"). So, I don't know how different Nexus 7 is from Nexus 5, and am not sure if you tried to flash all the .img files (or if that is needed) since @Elowan said "installer complains about missing some images". I'm thinking you should be able to do something to get things working though so I hope you can keep trying and talking with us and something works out!
