@detrminant It has to be a proper power down and restart. Quite often the first 'power down' just restarts lomiri. If this happens try another shutdown which should work. Then long press power on to get the Volla splash screen to restart and wifi should be back..... same for BT (after starting the service).

    Hi @linuxphone

For Ubuntu Touch, you can refer to the porting documentation.
For the linphone app, you can check the development documentation and maybe clickable.
If clickable is used you'll find the appropriate config files in the project repository then it's pretty straightforward.

I never received an email notification regarding replies to this thread so I just saw these.

Anyway, perhaps I read past it but I did not see any instructions on how to contribute with testing. Or are there no more open issues with the volla phone running the latest ubuntu touch?

    @alter said in Sleep problem?:

Nevertheless I would love to see manufacturers make smaller devices again, as I do find them easier to carry and consuming less. I really loved the form factor of Nexus 5.

Absolutely! I don't like the formfactor of the Volla, but it's one of the devices with the best UT future support I guess, that's why I bought one.
The size of my E4.5 is still okay, but in my opinion it could be even smaller, maybe 4.5" from edge to edge.

@keneda it's hard for me to reproduce since I can't make the fp reader stop working intenionally.

It just happens from time to time. And it happened once after the phone fell from a moderate height...

@s710 I am not sure if anyone ever contected Hallo Welt directly about it but ive read about it many many times and always wondered what was the issue. I really cant Imagine that the VollaPhone is to slow for acceptable scroll speeds and the situation on Android is way better.

No such thing as a magical reason. 🤯
It started acting weird because of some bug. Probably a memory leak. When the RAM is full Lomiri respawned.
But the root cause was still there.
You might have turned the phone completely off and after a hard reboot everything went back to normal... until the same bug reappears...

Software is complex and can be mysterious in some way I give you that 😉

@AppLee @domubpkm @TotalSonic Looks like I got an answer from their support, their servers are in maintenance, but should be done for tuesday, and still this error in ubports installer.

@Keneda good idea, it's worked for me too.

For windows version of ubports path is like that :

    C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\ubports\yggdrasil

    Thanks for your answers

There is not any hardware switchs on VollaPhone.
As it's a Gigaset GS290, you can find parts from the net as from hallowelt.
Don't think VolTE will not come rapidly to other phones that support it under Android.

@bolly : Thanks for the tip! I understand you convert the files with ffmpeg. Currently, I just transfer the concerned videos to my PC where VLC plays everything.
By the way, I'm still happy with my new Volla Phone.
But, it seemed to me the hardware itself should be able to play the H.265, that is what the chipmaker says at least.
I will probably ask Volla, or file a UT bug report.

@domubpkm It's good to hear that after 6 months you are still happy with the phone! I think too that the partnership with Hallo Welt Systeme/Volla is a good thing. I like the fact that we can buy newer hardware with pre-installed UT now. But I hope that the partnership won't be exclusive, and other Linux'es will also deliver a mature OS for the Volla Phone and team up, so Hallo Welt/Volla can grow. The more users, the better for UT and other Linux Phone OS'es and the manufacturer of the Volla Phone. It would be great if eventually other manufacturers follow to make open source phones that welcome Linux.
