@bad1080 Unfortunately, nothing is interchangeable with UT. Basically, your phone, running a specific version of Android, has low-level drivers and a partition layout that are very specific to that device. When UT is installed, the partition layout is modified from the original configuration, whilst the low-level drivers are retained. An intermediate layer between these Android drivers and UT is installed (Halium (9 or 10 or 11, etc.), which is also specific to your hardware. Finally, UT is configured to communicate with this Halium layer. Failure to adhere strictly to the prerequisites will, at best, result in a non-functional system; at worst, a phone that is permanently unusable. (My apologies to purists for this oversimplified explanation)

I'm creating the database with: var db = LocalStorage.openDatabaseSync("MienImmen", "1.0", "", 1000000); Because there's also important data, I want to back up the database and import it to my PC. Swapping the database is less error-prone than exporting and importing individual tables. There are approximately 40 tables. App databases are stored under the app namespace, e.g if your app is called "abd.xyz", you should either find it in ~/.local/share/abd.xyz or under ./config/abd.xyz

@idonthatevests Some devices can power on SSD via USB-C OTG with power delivery. Fairphone 5 with Fairphone OS can do it, I use it with a sandisk extreme SSD 500Go, it works very well. On the other way, if I want to use an HDMI dongle with SSD attached, for example to play a movie with my FP5 from the SSD, I have to power the dongle with external power because FP5 can't deliver enough power to SSD and dongle with HDMI/audio output in use for a stable playback. Now I still don't have a FP5 with UT on it so I can't test with this OS for now (will come).

@wally @sixwheeledbeast Thanks for your replies/thoughts. I am so happy to be on a free and open technology such as Ubuntu Touch! I was so excited when I learned about it and got it to work on my device. I can deal with minor items such as this, but I also thought I would politely mention it as I am impressed with the community of developers and what they are able to do with various updates. (It's also possible this is low priority or as @wally alluded to, it may be device specific and may not be updated in the future). I thought it was better to politely mention it vs not saying it at all. Cheers!

@projectmoon A GPS Navigator. I was a lot of time searching for a GPS navigator with the functionality I like for me, but I didn't found anyone. So I decided to code my own. I'm reviewing it now for publishing it.

@brenno.almeida said: @projectmoon @amaurydbz we just got the patches released in original Futify. Would you mind checking if the updated store version works for you? Thanks I'm still logged in to regular Futify from long ago. I played a song this morning and it worked. But then I did a search for a playlist, and played it. But it would go through each song for 2 seconds, without actually buffering or playing it.

@musicologist I also noticed this issue (24.04-1.3). It doesn't occur every time (AFAIK) and in my case it can't be linked to turning mobile data on and off, as I've not used that feature yet on the Quintus. When I noticed it, turning WiFi off and then back on was enough to make the SSIDs visible, though.

First place to look at would be the XDA forums as there are, or at least were, some unofficial Ubuntu Touch ports that pop there sometime.

Here I would, at least for security-criticsl apps, recommend going the Snap route. Not only does it do fine-grained AppArmor mediation, it also does cgroup, udev and seccomp configuration to reduce the attack surface available to the app. It has it way harder than ordinary Ubuntu Touch apps to escape the sandbox, even compared to clicks. Snaps are very well suited for paranoid usecases.

@dadrickpistachio That is awesome! Great job! If it is on Android 9, it sounds like it could be pushed through the main pipeline versus having to do a new build, right?
