Hello I can confirm ( I use airplane mode to redirect calls to another phone number ) After setting the mode the airplane switches after 1 or several rings ( i.e. it does not switch immediately after setting the airplane ... but after some activity )

@Ida_ Thank you for pointing me to the thread regarding VoLTE success stories. Unfortunately, my carrier is AT&T, which apparently is stricter in what it allows than some other carriers. For example, the only U.S. success I see in that thread is using a Xiaomi phone, which is not in AT&T's compatible phones list. I appreciate your further search suggestion too. Maybe that will lead me to an appreciable solution in the future, though for now I assume the Ubuntu Touch "Supported Devices" list includes all that are really prepared up to the stable standard I need.

@Luksus Ah, thank you for explaining. So, as I understand it, there is work to be done before the Op5(t) can be moved forwards to Noble.

@James-T What you surmised is quite correct. To shutdown the OP6 and 6T you have to either leave it a while, or use the key combo to het to fastboot mode and power off from there.

Hello.. My feeling, maybe I'm wrong is that some UT users wonder what are the models of smartphones, with which version of halium, are of the future and will support both Noble and Volte, including for the Volla. ... And if they will have to buy again a new smartphone. I only understood that the Fairphone 5 is a safe bet: is it well with Halium 13 when sold now with Android 14? Is there an official post (or will have ?), full procedure, to flash Noble on Fairphone 5, when we are or not on halium 13 ? Is it possible or sure that Fairphone 5 will be sold with UT (Noble) ? Can you clarify the supporting models (which will quickly support) Noble and Volte with the corresponding halium, including for the Volla? Thank you and good luck for the mass of work that all the developers make for the transition to noble and the volte support.

AFAIK it will move to noble, but it won't get VoLTE (like the Vollaphone). First it's nice to know that these devices are kept alive with the move to noble, but on the other hand it's a pity that they won't get VoLTE (even if they are capable of that under VollaOS). So they will be up to date from the software-side, but can't do a simple phone call or sending a message/SMS because of the 2G shutdown

@haagch said in Volla Quintus Update fails: I guess I'll mark this as solved even though going through RC is more of a workaround than an actual solution, because the update really should just work. Hi @haagch , This is the way to go. The forum is not a bug tracker. You had an issue someone helped you solve it. For reporting bugs it should be done in the Gitlab or Github dedicated to the proper project. Can be Ubuntu Touch, a specific app, a device specific issue, ...

@adorsaz said in What's the best way to store a user password?: Although, IIRC Ubuntu Touch lets user use phone without password/pin code. Maybe this is the reason such service is not provided to app developpers ? Ubuntu desktop also allows passwordless login. So that in itself is not the reason there is no implementation of libsecret on UT. The real reason is probably simply that none was implemented as yet.

Hi @bamboy360 I see you made quite some posts here. I appreciate your enthusiasm for Ubuntu Touch and your intention to help however you can. I just wanted to clarify that the forum is intended to discuss topics with the community. I'm explaining this because some posts can be interpreted as bug reports or feature requests. For bugs and requests it's best to create an issue on Gitlab or to the relevant project (Waydroid or a specific app). Cheers mate

Hi @saveurlinux They plan a first alpha release in 2026. So it's not for today. But if they want to support Ubuntu Touch, they are welcome to contact us for help integrating it. There are many trials to create an alternative to Chrome and all are welcome to make a version for Ubuntu Touch. UBports sadly does not have the resources to work on something else. We have efforts made to bring Webkit to Ubuntu Touch as well as work done with Firefox and the upgrade of Morph to Qt6. 3 projects and probably only 3 persons doing work. And they also contribute to porting, apps and the OS.

@bamboy360 said in Aplications from Google Store.: UT's "guided" way of installing waydroid can let you access some GooglePlay apps via AuroraStore apk (a redistributor) without google services. In my experience however, this leads to some android apps needing those services, crashing and causing other problems with Waydroid. It's fiddly. If WayDroid is used without GAPP module, it's recommended to install the MicroG services (a fake Google services library). This will allow "most" apps that need Google services to run properly in WayDroid. The installation is simple and is described here: https://forums.ubports.com/topic/5907/open-ubuntu-touch-to-all-android-applications/115
