@klh said in Call/number blocking wish list:

@dizzy Silent mode / dnd was split into a separate topic (can't find it now though, not sure what happened - if nobody beats me to it I'll probably work on that one too). This one is about blocking specific numbers from being able to call/message you 😜

I want this to be a part of the OS, not an app. As for donations, you can always donate to UBports: https://ubports.com/donate

If it will be easy to shift between "block Blacklisted" and "allow only Whitelisted" then this function could maybe be used anyway!?!

Yes, built into the OS is what it should be!

Are you working for UBPorts? If not, it should be nice if we could contribute to you personally I think. I'm already donate to UBPorts and will keep on doing that yearly. But of cause, if you think we should donate to UBPorts instead we can do that.

    • RE: Call/number blocking wish list

Amazing if this can come true!

I would also like to be able to let some calls go through when on silent mode. Just like alarm still notifies even on silent mode. Maybe favourites in Contacts.

When I'm away from home working, I would like to be able to activate silent mode in the night and still let my wife and doughter to be able to reach me in case of an emergency. You can do that on Android for example.

Will this be built in the OS or an app? If not an app, how can we contribute with money when it's finished?

Thank's for your effort on this very important function!

@fredldotme Well, a lots of others do know what Im talking about. Just search for it here for example. The last thread about it would probably be "Sound not going through bluetooth headphones". So I would say working partially, not more.

    • RE: Fingerprint misbehavin'

@emphrath its the same on mine. No pattern what I can see. I think "fingerprint unlock" working should be changed to partially. The same goes for bluetooth.
Dont get me wrong, Im fine with it not working 100% and I understand it too but it should not be advertised to be working. Thats all I say.

For your BQ, try uAdblocks (consider donation if you like it).

Dont overwork it. Its fine as it is. If you need something more secure, use a proper password. My two cents...

One thing that is not working for me, is the signal app that wont work on UT.

It's under active development. In short, a handful of volunteer devs are playing catchup with the much larger Signal team, and trying to adapt to changes that they aren't told about and have to reverse-engineer.
At the moment it's working pretty well for me; issues I'm having are mostly cosmetic, and having to do with Groups. The basic features are present and reliable for me.
I use the app in tandem with Signal Desktop on my laptop, the two are linked up, and that way I can use features that are still missing in Axolotl.

Without video calls its useless to me....

    • RE: Ubuntu Touch Newbie

@matt73 said in Ubuntu Touch Newbie:

@keneda Yes, the short battery life is a dealbreaker for my wife. I didn't think about battery life when I bought it. I am now thinking of getting the Google Pixel 3a XL and trying to stick Ubuntu touch on that. All my wife wants to do is use a messenger (I was thinking telegram), watch videos online, login to her banking (not through an app though), and take halfway ok pictures of the kids with the phone at least making it through to bedtime. Does anyone know if the Google Pixel 3a XL can handle that while running Ubuntu touch or should I ask that question in a different section of the forum?

Yes it can. She will be fine with Pixel 3a XL for that, if the battery is ok. My 3a XL has great battery life, but its a brand new Pixel.

Oh, I see. Yes you are right, there where many assumptions😀. I guess this thread could be removed then, due to there already is another one. I should have searched better.
