RE: An idea for the UBports/UBtouch website
@gimenez
It looks great in my opinion. It does give a good oversight of all major features and subjects. It is easy to understand even for non geeks. Good job. -
RE: Sony Xperia X loses Wifi Connection
@ilija_zmaj
Correction to my previous post. It is true that I don't lose connection while I am in reach of my router. Once I lose that connection because I leave home, my phone will not connect to or find any wifi signal unless I reboot my phone. It seems that it just does not bother to search for possible connections. -
RE: My opinions about lomiri
@slyvan, I love unity7 and I love lomiri. Such a clever and intuitive design.

RE: "UbuntuTouch" name
@lduboeuf said in "UbuntuTouch" name:
I remember a talk on AppDev channel about UbuntuTouch naming issue, can someone please explain me how it goes ?
If so are there any new name choosen ?Google results for Ubuntu Touch:
About 49.900.000 results (0,55 seconds)
Why would you want to change the name? -
RE: Wish list : which apps do you need?

RE: PinePhone
@PINE64 Thank you for that clarification. Yes, it was mainly to find out if there would be the special edition with 3GB RAM and more storage. And there would be at least one customer (me! ). As for the units that will be put on the market, the number is interesting.
Make it two!!! and I believe many thousands more.

RE: PinePhone
I definately will buy a pinephone in March. I have been using the Aquaris E5 and N5 for years now as my daily driver. They have never let me down so far. Yes I need "line", "skype" and "whatsapp" on the phone but that is ,sort of, promised for sometime this year. Ubports may be the most important project for Linux.

RE: Have pull down menu showing Airplane mode, WiFi, etc. fill screen.
@Opolork
The layout of the indicators are one of the best design features of the ubuntu touch OS. All required settings in one single location. Loving it. -
RE: Call for an encrypted matrix voice/video call app
@Thatoo
What about "Ring" now called "Jamie" by "Savoir Faire Linux" https://jami.net ... it is open source and runs on all major OS's including Android and IOS. Since there it is also compiled for Ubuntu, it might not be too much of an effort to port it to UT. -
RE: "UbuntuTouch" name
So true @Josele13. And Ubuntu Touch has already established a name for itself.

Navigation Bar (suggestion)
Swiping from the center down could activate an extra bar at the top of the screen making all (possible) navigation elements visible. After a few seconds It would disappear again by itself. Back, forward, up, down. Depending on the application. Just a thought that went through my head.

Nexus 5 - keep losing WiFi since OTA 5 update.
Since last update, my WiFi connection gets lost in unpredictable intervals. Sometimes I can recover my WiFi by toggling the network slider off and on. In battery settings WiFi is enabled. When the connection goes down it is impossible to switch to System Settings. Sometimes it needs a restart to get my WiFi settings back.
Does anyone have similar problems? I read about something that sounds like it could be my problem, but that was in 15.04.
Any help is appreciated.

RE: "Desktop" should be background-picture + Icons
No thanks, I already own an Android device, that's the reason I'm switching. I'm looking forward to a convergent device running the same OS and software on any computer, with the ability to run regular desktop programs when connected to a large screen.

RE: Wireless convergence on FP2 : black screen
@Ingo with the xrandr command you are able to set the borders of the output. The command xrandr displays the output device. In my case it's "HDMI-A-0".
So i type in the terminal:
xrandr --output HDMI-A-0 --set underscan on
xrandr --output HDMI-A-0 --set "underscan hborder" 59 --set "underscan vborder" 32
Perhaps this will work in your case as well.
