@hlbkv gnome software can handle debs and flatpaks (and on Ubuntu also snaps I think). The app itself is a deb, so it is not surprising that it can be installed. The apps that end up being able to be installed with it are probably also debs.

Just an update, I gave up on trying the KDEConnect workaround. I did some deep investigation on resolving the issue within Waydroid itself, and documented my progress. It's definitely a feature-request in Waydroid. https://github.com/waydroid/waydroid/issues/211 I haven't done any more work on it for a while, since my last post on github. There are a few libs being used in Waydroid, which I linked to, which have sparse documentation. I don't have deep enough knowledge of these languages and platforms to be able to fix this easily - not to mention android's workflow for builds. Wasn't able to do a build of LineageOS on my PC; some incompatibility with package versions. It'd be nice to resolve this for everybody who uses Waydroid, but IRL is taking priority for now.

@lsitongia : You're welcome! I'm not a developer, so I can't say if anything is by design, or why it is like this. Anyway, it's cool to have a way to add an address by clicking. It prevents making typos and sending mail to an unintended recipient

Note that Imdb recently redesigned their site so it's possible it's that too. Webview in UT is just generally not performing well.

@planner Any reason why, may I ask? It is pretty straightforward using the fastboot command. You need to download a stock ROM and TWRP for OP5T. You need to have ADB and Fastboot drivers installed (I install Android Studio as it has the latest drivers) Power of the phone and wait a couple of minutes. Boot into the bootloader by pressing Volume down and the power button together (when it powers on release the power button) Attach the phone to a PC with a USB cable Open up a command prompt in the fastboot folder (if using Android studio it is the Platform Tools folder) Flash TWRP using the command ./fastboot flash recovery <location of the TWRP image> Once in TWRP go to Wipe and Wipe Data, type in yes Go back to Wipe and choose advanced and tick the Cache and system and slide the button to wipe them In the PC file explorer locate the phone and copy the OP5T stock ROM to the root of the device storage (i.e. NOT in a folder) In TWRP choose install and navigate to the ROM file you copied and install it. If it fails there are other ways to go back to stock... Google is your friend use the XDA-developers forum or the oneplus forums as they have other methods.

Swipe down from the location detection in the top bar (shaped like a location pin). Note that even if location detection is on, it will only be active when there is an app active that is allowed to use it.

@arubislander Just to clarify: I don't run any server. I have no network at home apart from the link between my router and my PC and UT phone. The server I was referring to belongs to the commercial email service provider and may be located in another country. I am not absolutely sure that the issue does not appear on my PC. It just happens that I have noticed it on my UT phone. But I think it does not happen on my PC. I am using µAdBlock. But is this a problem?

@mdl No progress. I contacted T-Mobile to see if they could fix it on their end. They tried but to no avail. I can receive an error message letting me know that someone tried to send an MMS message, but that is it. I cannot participate in group chats, receive large messages, images, etc. Kinda sucks, but it's good enough for me. I hope MMS can get sorted out on UT eventually. I might upload a log if it would actually help the developers solve this issue. Somewhat unrelated, however: I did, find out that the reason I cannot receive calls is because UT (on my Pixel 3a) can seemingly only do SMS I/O and data while on LTE for some reason. While using LTE, I could not make or recieve calls. I also noticed that when trying to call someone, the call would not start dialing for a few seconds, then the service would completely shut off, then my phone would switch to 3G data, then the phone would start dialing. I found that by limiting the data to 3G, I can finally recieve spam calls from the CDC, scammers, and family again! Woohoo! (hope this information helps someone) Should probably file a bug report.

@mw4jet said in Cannot 'forget' Bluetooth Device: Any idea if and when it's might return? I wouldn't expect it to land in 16.04 anymore. 20.04 is around the corner, and it already contains a much newer Bluetooth stack. The one from 22.04 even, if I am not misremembering.

@ubuntoutou reinstall using the installer. Boot to the bootloader and install from there. It uses fastboot, not ADB. Fastboot is like a lower level of ADB.

@mschmids : I guess you're using IMAP? I guess it works then because every change takes place on the mail server. I didn't explain, but I use POP3, which means I'm downloading and storing my emails on my phone. The folders are on my phone, and need to be merged there. So your solution may help others, but in my case it won't solve my issue. Nevertheless thanks for your suggestion! Just edited my original question to include mail protocol. Kind regards, Alter

@anna That is as I expected. Although I hadn't realized that ufw was installed by default. But it does make sense that it is disabled by default. Ubuntu Touch aims to be a consumer ready mobile OS. Firewall administration is considered an advanced feature, which the typical user is not expected to need to deal with. And even then there would need to be some form of graphical settings page to simplify administration of the firewall at the very least. Furthermore, it is not really that ports are blocked by default on Ubuntu Touch, rather that there are no services running on the phone by default that are listening on any ports. This is the reason nmap flags the ports as closed. This is also the reason why it is good practice to only enable ssh temporarily, and also only when your device is connected to a trusted network. In this case having a firewall would not make ssh usage more secure.

@rik T-Mobile would not activate my Nexus 5, I will try their prepaid plan and just get a sim and see if it works. Local staff was not helpful on the future of 2G only talk about 5G which is not yet available from any carrier in my area.

@taiga-woods said in Messages App does not work: @lduboeuf Wow thanks, that was easy - I just deleted the folder and rebooted So know I can read new received SMS again, but I do not have the old ones. Anyway, that's not essential. I copied the folders from a Nexus 5. Are there other known issues when copying data from halium 9 to 10/11? I still haven't transferred the dekko2-files... Idk for Dekko, should be good as the issue is only related to a change in modem account name

No and VoLTE is not new tech it's been known for almost 5 years that 2G and 3G were being phased out in the US. Cambodia went totally to VoLTE in 2015. and many others have as well, just not the EU. An interesting link relating to the NEXUS 5 from 2014 https://www.qualcomm.com/news/releases/2014/07/qualcomm-announces-first-large-scale-commercial-volte-launch-japan
