@hlbkv gnome software can handle debs and flatpaks (and on Ubuntu also snaps I think). The app itself is a deb, so it is not surprising that it can be installed. The apps that end up being able to be installed with it are probably also debs.

Just an update, I gave up on trying the KDEConnect workaround. I did some deep investigation on resolving the issue within Waydroid itself, and documented my progress. It's definitely a feature-request in Waydroid. https://github.com/waydroid/waydroid/issues/211 I haven't done any more work on it for a while, since my last post on github. There are a few libs being used in Waydroid, which I linked to, which have sparse documentation. I don't have deep enough knowledge of these languages and platforms to be able to fix this easily - not to mention android's workflow for builds. Wasn't able to do a build of LineageOS on my PC; some incompatibility with package versions. It'd be nice to resolve this for everybody who uses Waydroid, but IRL is taking priority for now.

@jezek This is what I have always done when necessary because there is no permanent simpler one-touch solution.

...there is no problem to see the text-part of the eml file. But you cannot see/ separate other parts inside the eml "container", for exemple a pdf file or something else... Y UT Zipper cannot open it either... Is there another archive program inside Ubuntu maybe...?

@billboy5690 said in Backing up contacts: @billboy5690 OK I somehow got in too see some files on phone.Where are contacts stored . Folder? They are stored where you put them when you exported them as a .csv file. The export option is in the options menu (cogwheel icon) in the right hand top of the Contacts app. I would say that the 'downloads' folder is a good option, as that is accessible when you connect the phone to the PC.

I mentioned earlier in this thread: If I set the default sound to a custom sound then set an alarm I get a silent alarm. If I then set the default sound to a pre defined sound but select the custom sound when setting an alarm then it works OK??? Is anyone else seeing this? This is on a Volla Phone X at OTA 22.

@keneda said in New version notification: @fizz If you say so. "not working when updating from 20 to 21" if you prefer. I'm done here. Ah this revised sentence clarifies it all. Without that specification of "upgrading from" i thought you were talking about two separate versions: that "not working for 20 to 21" meant update notifications don't work on -20 and that they don't work on -21. So glad we finally made it to the same page. Thanks for the feedback. -Fizz

Problem solved. I disabled uBlock Origin for the site and it started working. As far as I recall I have always had uBO enabled as I turn it on for everything, and it is not something I alter on a daily basis, so I wonder if the site has changed.

@lakotaubp I dont know much about android phones .I tried to use one my brother has (galaxy) I did not like the experience and the forced bloatware and spyware. All these years I have been using an AT&T lumia 535.I would still be using it if not for the fact Att stopped supporting it. Well, sshd just wasn't running. For some reason, android-gadget-service didn't actually do anything. I've started sshd manually by running sudo /etc/init.d/ssh start and it works. Info I've gathered when trying to determine if it's running: I've run sudo lsof -i -n -P | grep LISTEN on the phone to know if port 22 is open, but it wasn't in the output, which means nothing is listening on it. Then I've run sudo ps aux | grep ssh and no matter if ssh is enabled or not it reports process from /usr/bin/ssh-agent /usr/bin/dbus-launch --exit-with-session ubuntu-touch-session command to be in the interruptible sleep (Ss in the STAT column). It doesn't report anything else, except grep --color=auto ssh due to results being filtered by grep. Now, as I started it, the output also contains /usr/sbin/sshd -D -o PasswordAuthentication=no.

@kaveman I don't know if proton vpn works for your phone as i don't know (see) the name of your phone but proton vpn works on every smartphone i use(d) : OPO, BQ E5 HD, BQ 4.5, NEXUS 5, the tablet BQ M10 and my daily driver Volla phone currently. Read carefully and apply the procedure of this thread and it should work unless there is something that makes your smartphone incompatible.
