@kuko Sorry that is not how it works. Each device needs it's own port and the developer needs to own one. You arte free to try yourself if you can plenty of help is available. https://forums.ubports.com/topic/206/will-you-port-to-device-x https://forums.ubports.com/topic/2068/halium-first-steps/1

@vinay5 Sadly it doesn't wok like that. It mostly depends if someone who has the device is willing and capable of creating the port. Then at that point, it'll then depend to the manufacturer if they release kernel sources which is essential to creating usable ports and other aspects of the device as well such as unlockable bootloader.

@redxxiii matrix is fantasic, we have a ubports space so people can easily find related rooms without having to ask people to redirect them to the right place. Issue is onboarding, and no great matrix app on ubuntu touch. Fluffychat is okay, and cinny is great in desktop mode but not fantastic in mobile mode, I have dreams that we'll have neochat or something as good someday, but neochat requres newer qt.

@snoopy No one can answer this question, there is no list of futur ported devices. Most of ports are done by community members, people like you and me, that own a certain device and wish to have UT on it. PS : don't make a thread for asking someone to port on your device, it's against UBports code of conduct

@lumpology said in Pinephone Halium Port: I might be totally out of line by making a post like this There is no problem asking things to understand better. @stanwood answered you, but i'll add that booting process of pinephone is not the same as android devices, and even if this may be possible (i don't know) to boot an android port on pinephone, the best is to boot directly a GNU one, hardware is designed for this. However i moved thread as it is not in the good part of forum.

@alita said in Samsung A04s: So I can only throw the device into the trash. An unwanted gift without a receipt (so I can't resell it). I don't know where do you live but in most countries, you can resell "like pristine" any good on sites like ebay or rakuten, without any receipt...

Hello and welcome @mangilmaih I moved your post to the Off Topic category. There are several reasons why requesting a port does not work and is not welcome. It's a lot of work. You are asking volunteers to do weeks or months of unpaid work. For porting, the volunteer making the port needs to have the device in hands. Otherwise it's like you are asking a tailor to make you a suit without taking your measurements: it will not fit. Not all devices can run Ubuntu Touch. Here is an article that explains some of the reasons why. In other words: you can't request a port. You can use an existing port, or you can make one for your own device. Those are the options you have.

@frelix The only way isf the device is not on the list https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io is tpo port the device yourself really. We do not dictate which devices for the devs and porters to work on, things do not work that way. Porters work on a device they like and own in their own time then bring it here. Porting info https://forums.ubports.com/topic/2068/halium-first-steps I have also moved this post p[lease seethis link https://forums.ubports.com/topic/206/will-you-port-to-device-x

@x0x0 Hi, I moved this thread to Off Topic since it is not about Ubuntu Touch. We do not offer support for VollaOS, however a forum user might come by that is willing and able to help.
