@CatWithUT Thank you for your work it seems very interesting to me! Just a quick question: do you think it would be feasible to create a .click package and have it in the Openstore? In a similar fashion that uWolf and uFirefox does? Can we avoid libertine containers? Do you think upcoming Mir2.0 will change anything in this regard as it supports Wayland? Do you use Mobian build scripts for ARM, for signal-desktop? https://github.com/0mniteck/Signal-Desktop-Mobian/releases And also note: if we can get an initial version to build and make an UT package I'm willing to work on making patches to make the interface responsive as I have done with whatsapp web. I think this is the easy part. But we should first make a set of scripts to build automatically a binary, and then a click package that can run on UT.

Hi @O.o. It will certainly help others when they see how far you've come. The latest in your other thread <Taking the plunge> about banking apps and others stuff: @O.o. said in Taking the plunge: I've been dithering and hesitating to give Ubuntu Touch a spin for months, and the obscene Google monopoly's decision to kill off deGoogled ROMs and open-source repos finally pushed me over the edge. I've ordered a Fairphone 5, onto which I'll install Ubuntu Touch, and hopefully I will make it my new daily driver. For the things I need that don't exist in the OpenStore, I intend to start developing for Ubuntu Touch. I suppose it had to happen one day. Google made it today. Wish me luck Many thanks and Greetings Mario

@adevhasnoname You probably could do it with an extension to repowerd, to write a new plugin that will wakeup the scren or shut it down. repowerd is the main arbiter when it comes to power-related events.

@Giiba Grateful. The only directory where I have not checked. Documents do not work either. I had to install nginx, virtual hosts and run through localhost)))

@kristatos said in MMS situation: Some days or weeks later there is an incoming SMS that tells me, that there's an unread MMS and a link where I can watch at it. Got this once on my MX4 since updated on UBP OTA-11 stable. Weird because on canonical OTA15, MMS worked like a charm.

@Keneda To be honest i don't really know what the problem was. I followed every step on how to install ubports to OPO and by doing that i bricked it because the program stopped seing my device in fastboot and all that happened in Win 10. Anyway after all that process i did to try re-install ubports with ubuntu and not Win 10, it finally let me enter in fastboot mode and nothing more and even then i couldn't see my OPO in device manager ( something weird in my opinion cause i heard the connection sound when i plugged in the device). And you know the rest of the story with adb/fastboot commands. So i guess all that was a huge bug from Win 10 side.

@CyborgKakapo I have moved your topic as it is not directly about a specific port. Porting info here https://forums.ubports.com/topic/2068/halium-first-steps I am no porter but there are many issues involved and it can take a long time. Have a look at the docs linked to above and if your still interested let us know and we can point you in the right direction.

@hankschwie Thank you very much. I thought this was the transfered data. But the file I copied somehow was empty. So redownloaded it and now it works. Thanks again

Indeed, Nexus 5 is still a « promoted device » and is a mostly used smartphone with UT. (And it works really great )

Hi! We just had a similar case at https://forum.fairphone.com/t/ubuntu-touch-with-threema-on-anbox-where-are-the-files/53768/12 , a fairphone 2 running the stable channel. After changing to rc channel Anbox installation, that was stuck like in this case, could be completed, and now works. Perhaps you could give it a try? (if you are on stable, nobody knows but you...). But you left the forum; so we'll never know. I hope it helps in other cases.

@Mr-Smartyman well as soon as OTA 12 is out, you will have to close all apps to get to the "desktop" but maybe by OTA 13, you'll be able to get to the background by swiping and tapping, but I'm not so sure how thats working. Its not a priority because I don't think many people will be asking to get to the "desktop" as opposed to other more pressing issues, or desired features.

I tried a bunch of times with no luck. I finally went this route to export from my computer and import to my device. https://forums.ubports.com/topic/2987/import-contacts-to-ubuntu-touch?_=1586644152914 Worked great.

@redi sorry, but I really can't help you with that. You might want to raise an issue on the upstream conversejs repository: https://github.com/conversejs/converse.js/ Please mention that you are using ConverseJS 6.0.1 with my Ubuntu Touch wrapper. It might very well be a known issue given the complexities around OMEMO. I know that just recently a draft for the revision of the official OMEMO standard was submitted that among some other bigger problems tried to solve various multi-client edge cases. But to be honest, I would not expect it to be fixed any time soon
