Heya, I'm a student who's got plenty time on their hands since my college hasn't started yet. In the meantime I've been actively testing Ubuntu Touch and have noticed how the devices page and other documentations lack updates. I unfortunately don't have a pc right now so I can't contribute in coding and development as of right now but I can offer to help in all kinds of documentation building stuff since I'm quite passionate about writing in general and I really wanna help the community however I can. I will do this by keeping myself updated on new developments, talking to community members and ofcourse testing things myself. So I'd like to ask, is this a welcomed effort?? xcx

@projectmoon The main problem that currently prevents using Wayland for electron apps, is that the On-Screen-Keyboard cannot work with GTK+Wayland+Mir1.x . By the way the Merezhyvo Browser ( popriatary app ! ) is an electron app using Wayland, but it has found it's way around this problem by coding it's own OSK inside the app itself, which is not really a way I want to go. (Especially for Signal because I want to modify the code only as strictly necessary, and also because for Signal there are other problems when it comes to using it in Wayland mode with Mir1.x). Anyway I've already tried it (see in the Signal UT topic), and reallu the best is to wait for Mir2.x, I hope it won't be in too long.

@arubislander Thanks arubisander. I think we have nailed it. On a nexus 7, the "Help" app works. It does not crash but it opens an error message: Document Not Found The URI 'help:ubuntu-help/index' does not point to a valid page. However, the app shows a working menu with "Find... | Print... | Previous Page | Next Page | All Help". Clicking on "All Help" opens a page with the following items: AisleRiot Manual Gnome Help A guide for GNOME 3 desktop users GNOME System Administration Guide A guide for GNOME 3 system administrators I think this Help app was installed automatically as a dependency to AisleRiot Solitaire which may be a GNOME app. This "Help" probably doesn't have all the documentation that could come with it. Hence the error message. I still don't know why it crashes on a nexus 5 though.

@Ubuntu-Schommel Ich habe eine Frage: hast Du noch der bq E5? Ich habe eine Problem mit alle eingehenden Anrufen > Kein “Telefon“ app (Fenster). I've a question: Do you still have the bq E5? I have a problem on all incoming calls > no “phone“ app/windows. Sorry for broken english and/und tut mir Leid fur die deutschen Fehler !

Perhaps you can check how UTTT does the switching to windowed mode and if it's just a script, you can add something in upstart which can be triggered every boot. Scaling for example can be done this way, actually it's what UTTT does to be persistent.

I found out that some apps are working, but if I'm remembering correctly, usually the morph browser that I used in Ubuntu touch as the vnc client, gave me problems. If Morph would be more modern it would work, but sometimes when I needed to enter some text somewhere, Morph wouldn't give me a keyboard etc I was thinking about Guacamole or DWService Could't get it going... (did not try Anbox / teamviewer by the way)

We also have our own PinePhone thread https://forums.ubports.com/topic/2403/pinephone/546 and Braveheart thread https://forums.ubports.com/topic/3931/pinephone-braveheart/46 If PinePhone questions could be kept to one of those it would probably help everybody interested in PinePhone.

Sorry, I've been trying to download from Tutanota mail and you can't download files from Ut, you don't do it with your browser and neither from webapp, The problem is from Tutanota, I have 4 different emails and they all download the files without problems, Gmail, Protonmail, Mailbox and Mailo, We have an option, use Dekko for Tutanota mail and verify that it works Regards....

Sorry to say, a certain batch of OPOs has a different persistent storage, so the MAC address i snot initialized correctly, leading to a faileed driver load. If some of the devs could get hands-on such a device its probably a matter of a few days to fix it, but so far all of our models are "working" ones. Though we get those reports since over a year now. I have no idea how to fix it, other than pointing you here: https://github.com/ubports/ubuntu-touch/issues/995 -> you need to create the mentioned config file in /persist partition of your device. Boot in recovery, mount /persist and then do the steps that are scattered in this thread - If you could write a better HowTo would be grand.
