@hlbkv gnome software can handle debs and flatpaks (and on Ubuntu also snaps I think). The app itself is a deb, so it is not surprising that it can be installed. The apps that end up being able to be installed with it are probably also debs.

Just an update, I gave up on trying the KDEConnect workaround. I did some deep investigation on resolving the issue within Waydroid itself, and documented my progress. It's definitely a feature-request in Waydroid. https://github.com/waydroid/waydroid/issues/211 I haven't done any more work on it for a while, since my last post on github. There are a few libs being used in Waydroid, which I linked to, which have sparse documentation. I don't have deep enough knowledge of these languages and platforms to be able to fix this easily - not to mention android's workflow for builds. Wasn't able to do a build of LineageOS on my PC; some incompatibility with package versions. It'd be nice to resolve this for everybody who uses Waydroid, but IRL is taking priority for now.

@mou-du-gnu I don't understand the search for work arounds while this is obviously a bug in the synchronisation routine with nextcloud. Has there already been an issue raised for this? It needs to be fixed in the sync software, since as you have seen no work-around will work for all the different usecases of the calendar.

@paulie420 Dead batteries can cause serious hardware issues, so emmc may not be the problem. Changing battery saved my mx4, thanks to @MrT10001 . https://forums.ubports.com/topic/7759/i-just-reinstalled-ut-after-a-huge-problem/16

@lduboeuf I'll add that, not mentionned in this issue, we can export all contacts at once in a vcf file (no need to do it one by one), going in contact app, parameters, "export all contacts".

Please do not use apt at all, we are doing image-based upgrades, and have a channel concept: stable channel for all users release candidate (RC) for testers and devs, and ambitious users devel for developers when using apt you would update to latest packages in devel, that might break your phone or has other complications. This is not a desktop distro! Solution: Change to another channel briefly or reinstall UT with the installer. That will fix your issue. BR Florian

Just for clarification what happens on the next OTA re contacts: Software has been exchanged to replace the old contacts backend with a newer one The old user data remains in your device A new Db is created, and a migrator runs one time to move all contacts into the new Db (thats the current blocker, the migrator wont start on all devices due to a very difficult datetime issue in the recovery mode) A flag file is created to not migrate more than once Google contacts sync is disabled for now Thats all. No contacts can be lost. In case anything goes really wrong the old database is there, and with another small emergency OTA we can help all users to re-migrate it for example. So we got most of scenarios covered. I disagree to keep this pending until everything with sync is fixed. This means we cannot release another OTA, or any update to users. This means 16.04 is dead in the water (which it is already kinda) and we come closer to a cutoff date where everything must first work in 20.04 - imagine all of what we have queued now, approx 35 items, if one of them breaks in 20.04 which is very likely, we can again not release. Also there is no point of saying that this is ok, simply put all hands on 20.04: It still does not have a release date, and most of all a lot of devices might not get upgraded if we cannot motivate the porters to do the necessary changes. We need to be able to push 1, 2 or even 3 more OTAs before 20.04

@clacoiks tap and hold on the 'hamburger' left on the strip above the keyboard, then select Nano, you will find most of the key-combinations you need. Swipe left on the strip to reveal more options to the right. [image: 1665047010253-utouch-keyboard-extras.png]

Yeah Seabass 2 is the best but take note that it's unconfined and it's geared more towards programming/coding. I use it more text editing though

@keneda Thank you! Strangely, I tried it again and it worked. The only thing I did differently this time was to create a small contacts.db (mine is 1.8 MB so I thought that the size might be the problem), move it into the directory and after a restart the contacts were shown. Then I deleted it, moved my 1.8 MB contacts.db into the directory and it worked. I have no idea why. I don't think my antics with the smaller file had anything to do with it. Anyway, thank you: Without your insistence that the contacts are saved in contacts.db I would not have tried it again.

@tswanshi USB ports have resistors that act as fuses so a USB port should in essence not blow a motherboard. It sounds like the graphics part of the motherboard probably decided to coincidentally give up the ghost. Being a DELL, this is not wholly surprising as the majority of DELL laptops I have repaired usually are overheating due to the bad design of the heatsink and fan and the lack or too much of the thermal compound they use on the CPU and graphics chip.

@ubuntoutou Have you registered on the website?, there are some websites that don't show you the recharge points until you register, this happens with Electromaps, this one works with Morph, try it ... https://www.electromaps.com https://map.electromaps.com it use Open street maps for the maps. @alma The BQ Aquaris M10HD is very old and nigh on impossible to get hold of. If you want a tablet, look at the Lenovo M10 X605F/L. However I would look at a phone over a tablet as all devices have their quirks and find one with the easiest experience to begin with. The Pixel 3a springs to mind or a Oneplus 5 or 5T.
