Hi Zaito, so sorry for delay, I have only just logged on in ages. I tested it on GS5 only - installed UT 24.04 because it was the only way to make phonecalls when 3g packed up. Nothing I did enabled Waydroid to persist. Meaning that if waydroid was closed for any reason, you couldn't reboot it without a completely fresh installation. This rectified in June with a new UT update. Everything works well in both UT and Waydroid with one exception; there is no clipboard on waydroid. Which means you cannot copy or paste anything in any circumstances. If I need waydroid copy facilities I have to use another phone running UT20.04. Hope all is well.

@phone-adventures replying to my own reply (newbie thing to do I know) anyway SUCCESS! Thanks in large part to the folks on XDA. I ended up downloading 0.8.8-beta (but maybe a later version would also have worked). It displayed the exact same issue. Searching revealed a post on the LineageOS site (I think it was) with people that had an identical issue. The advice which was followed related to data in the user partition which causes this. So the advice was to wipe all user data (i.e. check that box). I followed that advice and BINGO everything just worked as documented. I hope this helps someone with a Xiaomi Poco M3. I've added some stuff to the web page, but more needs to be done on that. I'll now try to figure out how to close this issue off on this forum.

@lduboeuf Maybe I'll find a talking log messaging-app when the keyboard doesn't retract properly again.

Hi and welcome @techniix There is a way. But it's a bumpy road. The messages are stored in a sqlite database IIRC and you can access it. But there is no automated way to import your exported messages. You'll need to make a script to parse your XML file and query the database for each entry. If you're interested in trying, let me know, I'll try to dig out where the database is. It was already mentioned on this forum.

@applee I managed to get the syncing done by placing a symlink in the Pictures folder. As stated above, placing a symlink in the root home folder didn't. At first there were some duplicates shown in the Gallery app but they were handled after a while and you could see the reshuffling going on. maybe it would be an idea to have a preference, like in SailfishOS, to automatically store pictures on the SD card if one is present?

I have experienced a huge difference between 1280x800 and 1920x1200. I'm having a X605F which I bought from a shop who sell used devices (am I allowed to put a link here?). I'm happy with it.

Actually you may even be lucky that Android booted. From what I read/heard, locking bootloader while UT is installed may brick your device because you won't have a bootable OS and a way to unlock the bootloader again. I may be wrong or misunderstood that though In any case, congrats with your new UT device and good luck

I've tried to uninstall the app, then deleted all files under ~/.cache/com.ubuntu.reminders, ~/.config/com.ubuntu.reminders and ~/.local/share/com.ubuntu.reminders directories. Then installed app again, configured Evernote account, synced and... the app crashed. Only the titles of 4 notes (out of many) got downloaded, with no text inside. Maybe it's something faulty inside the notes. Have to investigate logs. Will report if found something.

@xekuta747 SUMMARY: The installation is fine (you can only install, what you get), but the problem seems to be the missing Ubuntu SDK.

What does the screen show? Recognition works normally only in recovery / adb. Does it show the usual greenish Google fastboot items?

@muskist nice. Ok, the fastboot -w command did definitely work for me... but who knows. There is another command fastboot format:ext4 userdata which should also work, but I have had the impression, that the -w command made my device boot more reliable... Perhaps "-w" does work only after formatting with ext4? Anyway, nice that it is working now.

Switching channel can indeed be wonky and sometimes show you multiple updates if you switched channel multiple times.. .
