@hlbkv gnome software can handle debs and flatpaks (and on Ubuntu also snaps I think). The app itself is a deb, so it is not surprising that it can be installed. The apps that end up being able to be installed with it are probably also debs.

@bamboy360 said in Elevate Push Notifications from WayDroid to UT?: Someone there mentioned using KDEConnect as a workaround. I might look into that next. I suspect this was aimed primarily at desktop Linux, although any mobile Linux where KDE/GConnect shows notifications would work as well. Unfortunately, at the moment UT is not one of those where it would work out of the box. But feel free to experiment, maybe you can make it work.

Worked kind of. Its important that you first create a folder in the user-data/xenial folder I named it SDCARD and then the mount command is: sudo mount -B /media/phablet/ED34-76D7/ ~/.local/share/libertine-container/user-data/xenial/SDCARD Now i can access the data from libertine apps

Thank you for your reply. I was just curious, because the initial key exchange with a friend was not flawless, it needed to be restarted a second time, and also some acknowledgements of delivered messages failed. Anyway thanks again.

I think its not a problem of sources but of having no one that is maintaining this app, unfortunately.

My FP2 is also getting very hot above the battery (right of the camera), but I thought it comes from watching videos, for example on youtube. Not shure what module lies there It also drains the battery a lot, but I don't think it's empty as fast as yours. Perhaps its just a browser issue with html5 players... but since my FP2 can't play back video files from "disk" I cannot confirm my guess. Edit: After clearing my gstreamer cache (https://github.com/ubports/ubuntu-touch/issues/661#issuecomment-401391699) I could confirm, that my FP2 is overheating on html5 playback. I played the same video with UTmedia app (html5 player) and with native media player: html5: gets very hot, nearly untouchable native: gets warm So for me, I suggest it has something to do with hardware acceleration not working for html5. Otherwise, if @Danceswithcats did not play back any media in the browser, this could be a general issue in the webapp(-container). btw: I'm on 15.04 ota3.

  • Will USB microphone work (on Fairphone 2)? And: battery usage?

While the Fairphone has USB OTG support, its not clear what will happen if you connect it: The mic might not be able to talk with the device if it is not also USB-OTG capable The microphone might be recognized, but then the sound routing will ignore it. It could work for the Ubuntu part, but probably you cannot use it for calls (Android part). BR

@ukphil you're very welcome. I'm glad you have fixed your issues! Yes, English is a language full of nuances and sometimes is difficult to guess the right word. For example, when you say "you must also accept..." Is that too imposing? Sure, it doesn't sound as hard as "you have to accept also..." but maybe "you should also accept..." sounds more polite? That's why I said it's better to be open minded and assume everybody is here to help, not to offend by default

Hi @FishFingers44 According to yesterday's Q&A, those of us still on 15.04 developers or RC channels should receive an automatic update within the next week or so... The developers seemed really pleased with the progress they've made on Xenial.
