@david-boddie Yes we finally received at least one device, but with the other activities which we had to start earlier (ongoing from last year already) we made a list of priorities, and Librem5 is in the queue. That said, a working Pinephone image will almost likely work immediately also on the Librem5, so there is not much to do basically. Anyone who has a Librem5 can try to follow the steps of Pinephone and see how far they get.

@arjun said in Are there any projects to run Android apk files run natively on UT?: @TotalSonic will android work as a subsystem on UT? Is that possible? Any pre installed FOSS client of playstore will be great too What you are asking for is Anbox. AFAIK Anbox is not an emulator but a containerized Android userspace running on the same Linux Kernel. That is almost as running it natively. Other than that, there are efforts to port Flutter to desktop Ubuntu.

@AppLee Hey, no problem, at least you didn't outright delete my question! :beaming_face_with_smiling_eyes: I understand a little bit more how UB works now, and I suppose it's a bit like Android in this regard, except it's not an OEM job. My phone has an SoC that's not completely one-of-a-kind, since other phones share it, but in the Leagoo inventory, it's an only child when it comes to CPUs, so I gather the manufacturer isn't too keen on investing time and dough in porting a more recent Android version to a phone that was released almost three years ago. I'll see the "Will you port my device?" part of the forum and see what they have to say. In the meantime, I'm going to familiarize myself a bit more with UB and how it works. Thanks for taking the time! Have a great one! (day, evening, don't know what timezone you're in)

@webou Hi, I moved your question to the Off Topic section of the forum. https://forums.ubports.com/topic/206/will-you-port-to-device-x You can try to port Ubuntu Touch yourself, some without technical knowledge managed to do it with some efforts. You can check there if you're interested by the adventure: https://forums.ubports.com/topic/2068/halium-first-steps You'll find some help here on the forum or on Telegram.

@Tellina Wireless display/miracast in general are only advisable for media consumption and not for interactive things like using KB/mouse or gamepads for games. Currently, this technology isn't that good yet for those use cases. Personally, I don't really like using wireless display because I mostly have bad experience with it in any device I tried (Android, Windows, etc.). Regarding the background of your question, do you intend to develop apps for UT? I don't see a problem testing your apps on tiny device which they are will actually be running on. Or do you intend to develop apps directly on your phone instead of your desktop?

@Nathan123 Technically you can, but if you do so, you'll have to do it again after the next OTA. But there are "drivers" that can be seen as blobs ; those are provided by the manufacturer and cannot be changed because are tied with the hardware. Note: If you're thinking about fixing your wifi problem like this, I think it won't work. You problem is probably hardware related given that other OPO users don't have the same behavior. Maybe it is a bad memory sector and flashing UT again can fix it, but I think you already tried that and it didn't help.

Inglese: You are absolutely right. And I hope that one day no one will make a choice of this type mandatory. I also use the broswer to solve the problem, where it is possible. But that's not always possible. I wanted to point out that there is a usability problem. It is desirable that not only banks, but also companies that provide digital identity, provide apps for UT. For the moment, however, I believe that a well-optimized Anbox is the middle solution to bring those who have uncertainties closer to to more users. Italiano: Hai pienamente ragione.
