@doniks I think this cable seems to be what you're looking for: http://www.sinforcon.com/product/html/359.html If you manage to get it, just remember to use a multimeter to check that the 3V is actually on the microphone terminal first.

yeah, i guess i did. i knew that the functionality for the phone was pretty much done just minus bluetooth accessibility. i've been keeping tabs on it for a couple weeks. i was hoping that bluetooth functionality would eventually be taken care of and it was. cool!

@walidham Hello, sorry no but you could ask on Telegram, maybe some of the devs are listening. I have not enough insight on these really specific problems...

You would have to give us more information to help you. There is documentation on how to get started with porting at wiki.ubports.com, did you read that? Please note that we are currently not porting to new devices, so we won't be able to help you very much. Also, the Xiaomi Redmi 2 looks a little underpowered to make Ubuntu Touch shine, so you might reconsider if porting to that device is really worth the effort...

@NeoTheThird Yes, for 12.1 is the same, but if we rebase Ubuntu Touch, would be great to use LineageOS. At least for the new devices. Thanks for your answer!

Sure, you can work with whoever you like. The documentation on porting is a little outdated (we're still recovering from the shock of canonical dropping support), but here you go: https://wiki.ubports.com/wiki/UBports-Development-Information

@rubencarneiro from which channel do you install your ROM? I guess channels need to be clarified (I, myself is a bit lost).

@izd Hello, maybe it is not well communicated but currently the devel_rc-proposed channel is the "stable" channel for N5. Did you try to flash that one, it should work pretty well. We are about to shift devel to stable soon, as I already remarked internally that people will be irritated by the current stable channelĀ“s broken state. Please try to do that and tell us if it worked. BR

Hey fancsali, I have seen the situation of images, but no code before with the Nexus 7 deb. I guess it would be best if you start from the porting guide: https://developer.ubuntu.com/en/phone/devices/porting-new-device/ . It should be somewhat easier to get anywhere since you're not starting from scratch completely, but the old canonical branches. Chances are, the only way to answer the question about deal-breaker issues, is for you to try and find it out. Anyway, even if there is a deal-breaker, I'd say it is a contribution to learn how to build it, maybe get it into the ubports repository for others to build on in the future, or at least document it here. And who knows, maybe you can use the lessons learned some time on another device. I'm at the same point with the deb, where there are some images around, but no code in the ubports repository (unless it has changed in the last months). It's on my list to try to build it myself but it keeps dropping to the bottom of my list ... one of these days. Good luck!
