@hlbkv gnome software can handle debs and flatpaks (and on Ubuntu also snaps I think). The app itself is a deb, so it is not surprising that it can be installed. The apps that end up being able to be installed with it are probably also debs.

Just an update, I gave up on trying the KDEConnect workaround. I did some deep investigation on resolving the issue within Waydroid itself, and documented my progress. It's definitely a feature-request in Waydroid. https://github.com/waydroid/waydroid/issues/211 I haven't done any more work on it for a while, since my last post on github. There are a few libs being used in Waydroid, which I linked to, which have sparse documentation. I don't have deep enough knowledge of these languages and platforms to be able to fix this easily - not to mention android's workflow for builds. Wasn't able to do a build of LineageOS on my PC; some incompatibility with package versions. It'd be nice to resolve this for everybody who uses Waydroid, but IRL is taking priority for now.

If you dd from sdcard to emmc keep your size below 14.5g or your emmc will not boot, don't ask how i know this. Or label your sdcards , and know what is on them. Its easier to adjust the size with gparted or similar before you “ dd ” it.

@Vmgm Hi, you created a new thread here instead of simply replying to the one you already created. Please be careful in the future. If you need help I gave you few hints in the original thread. I will now lock this thread to avoid cross posting, thanks for your understanding.

@advocatux said in What formats are supported for video?: @Giiba have you tried to play videos with UTMedia (https://open-store.io/app/utmedia.nfsprodriver)? There are some issues with the default media player on Nexus 5 but UTMedia works for me. @advocatux This solution works for me too. (Playing regular videos with H264 - MPEG-4 AVC codec). I run Ubuntu Touch on RC on Nexus 5.

@dobey said in Indicator pull down regression on new Unity8 (rc/ver. 64): For the second question, it would be in the unity8 repo, and in the Panel.qml iirc. Panel.qml is the correct spot. I've poked around with the old unity, and it should just be a matter of properly defining sizes and anchors. edit: I see where the indicator is defined but am too much of a newbie to know what's wrong. line 350: https://github.com/ubports/unity8/blob/xenial/qml/Panel/Panel.qml

@Idefix said in root drive full? (some kind of virtual disk?): I want to add a feature, which implies manipulating nftables, unbound, vsftpd and things like that, if they are installed in a container, is there some hope it will function ? You haven't elaborated on what it is you are trying to do. But lots of commandline tools and apps work fine in a Libertine container. Also installing them there carries the added benefit that if you switch channels, your apps remain installed.

To echo what @arubislander said, you'll have to check to see if Anbox works for your device. Here are the detailed instructions: https://docs.ubports.com/en/latest/userguide/dailyuse/anbox.html I installed Anbox on my OneplusOne phone and so far it seems to fit my usecases. Some apps will work and some won't. You'll have to experiment and see which ones work. If you run into some issues getting apps to work, the following posts might be useful depending on what errors you run into: https://forums.ubports.com/topic/3406/starting-anbox-container/5 https://forums.ubports.com/topic/3407/anbox-apps-not-working

@Giiba after a fresh installation with wipe the problem still presist. If no other Nexus 5 is affected by this, it must be an hardware issue of of my specific device. Cheers

Just for the record: Offline Maping is possible with Pure Maps by installing OMS Scout Server.

  • Nexus 5 Hotspot has two BSSID numbers?

Today after several tries I was able to get the hotspot working on my Nexus 5. I tried different menu click combinations on the Nexus and none of the usual combinations worked. I'm using it now as I type this. The wifi sniffer said that the vendor name is Google, Inc. now on this connection I have today. Google, Inc. and LG Electronics kept popping up at the same time a few times as vender name and mostly LG Electronics, but I was not able to get a connection on either. Google, Inc. went through three different BSSID addresses before I had internet. This is the first time I've seen it connect to the Google, Inc. address. It seems like there is a fight going on between LG and Google. On my Mac, the network connection window shows the hotspot name twice and the check mark alternates between the two like it cannot make up it's mind which one to connect to. Maybe in a future UT update this problem can be worked out. If anyone has an idea on what I can do to help my computer connect to the hotspot, then please let me know. If you are using Linux or BSD then that would be helpful to know, too. My Mac is on the Catalina OS update. Thanks.
