@Alain This featute isn't in UT/Lomiri yet. Simplest way is to make something like a home screen app and there are some that exists already like Launcher Modular. Not sure they have app groups though. You can contribute to them if you don't want to make your own. However, they obviously act like a normal app. Best you can do is pin it to the Launcher for easy access. Or you can contribute to Lomiri and implement it in the App drawer which definitely needs some love There's even a bounty for it so there's money to get

@Sentinel said in No GPS access from inside Waydroid: maybe the MIUI version I flashed might have impacted Waydroid's reliability or other things? Yes — this can significantly affect UT. The MIUI image version to use is specified in the installation guide under "2. Check the correct version of MIUI", and it looks like you used the correct one. I can't explain the unusual bugs you've reported. Did you remount the system as read-write and make any changes? Did you use apt (update/upgrade/install)? I'm fine with starting a new discussion thread.

Hi! Did you try to reflash the phone using twrp and the latest official .zip? Theoretically speaking it should be possible to copy the current upgrade https://www.oneplus.com/de/support/softwareupgrade/details?code=PM1574156097213 onto a sd card or the internal storage of the phone. Flash the phone with twrp recovery ( https://twrp.me/oneplus/oneplusone.html) , reboot to recovery and flash the zip from within the twrp recovery.

@Erwin I had quite a similar bug when switched to OTA-11 recently. I had to deactivate MAC filtering, and then i could get connected, and then reactivated MAC filtering (then i registered MAC) and still worked.

Maybe some of these ideas will help? https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=209121 https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/droidcam/ Apparently there is a group already working on a solution to access the camera from the android HAL and present it to Linux: "provides a set of interfaces to libcamera for existing applications; they will include a V4L compatibility layer, an Android HAL interface, and a GStreamer interface. The intent is to make libcamera suitable for all Linux-based devices." https://lwn.net/Articles/794555/ https://libcamera.org/docs.html

@jjconstr said in Installing UT on N5 stuck in boot loop: @cela Thanks for the tips. They were helpful. I didn't have to check youtube. I used my fingernail to remove the back, took out some screws I didn't need to, lifted the battery connector and then the battery. Putting a new battery in didn't correct the boot loop though. I also poked and prodded the switch to see if it would loosen up and work. No deal. Looks like there is a small pin or shaft that the button pushes on when depressed. It doesn't look like it moves at this point. I appreciate your help! Thank you, jjconstr I guess I was one of lucky 1% that swapping out the battery worked for. Careful with the hot gun and shield any parts that might melt when you swap the switch, those switches are so tiny good luck.

@stan Yes and no, I've set correctly the DNS for Wi-Fi networks, but can't edit the settings for cellular data. For wireless you can find the commands I've used above. Maybe it could be part of the settings app in the future.

@Lakotaubp This was helpful for me on that ubports post "android tools takes up too much space." After doing some digging around I found this which addresses exactly my problem. My apt seems to be working now.
