I found a "workaround" for now:

You can get "somewhat" around the sending issue. Type enough so the "Expand Text Box Arrow" is usable (or move you finger around the text box a little (up works very often), for some reason the arrow shows up then too), press it and now you can press the blue send button to the right. It is far FAR from working / good but it works for now. That also allows selecting and then "overwriting" the current text. That can be considered as a "backspace" workaround.

ALSO: Signal-Desktop uses more battery then it should. It uses a far less if you close it and reopen it and don't open any chats. IDK. why.

@ds2k5 said in Signal stop working after switch backup Ubuntu and back zu Signal:

How to setup if close the App
that the app will closed that I do not need to do it by hand

Getting Waydroid apps to work more like regular UT apps is still a work-in-progress. For now you probably have to use the work-around you discovered.

To echo what @arubislander said, you'll have to check to see if Anbox works for your device. Here are the detailed instructions: https://docs.ubports.com/en/latest/userguide/dailyuse/anbox.html

I installed Anbox on my OneplusOne phone and so far it seems to fit my usecases. Some apps will work and some won't. You'll have to experiment and see which ones work.

If you run into some issues getting apps to work, the following posts might be useful depending on what errors you run into:

Just for the record: Offline Maping is possible with Pure Maps by installing OMS Scout Server.

  • Nexus 5 Hotspot has two BSSID numbers?

Today after several tries I was able to get the hotspot working on my Nexus 5. I tried different menu click combinations on the Nexus and none of the usual combinations worked. I'm using it now as I type this. The wifi sniffer said that the vendor name is Google, Inc. now on this connection I have today. Google, Inc. and LG Electronics kept popping up at the same time a few times as vender name and mostly LG Electronics, but I was not able to get a connection on either. Google, Inc. went through three different BSSID addresses before I had internet. This is the first time I've seen it connect to the Google, Inc. address. It seems like there is a fight going on between LG and Google. On my Mac, the network connection window shows the hotspot name twice and the check mark alternates between the two like it cannot make up it's mind which one to connect to. Maybe in a future UT update this problem can be worked out. If anyone has an idea on what I can do to help my computer connect to the hotspot, then please let me know. If you are using Linux or BSD then that would be helpful to know, too. My Mac is on the Catalina OS update. Thanks.

Right now there is not an easy way. Maybe in the future there will be, but it will take time.

If you are interested I made a script to do the install. It uses pm tool which verifies its download and does some checksum to see if the image you have is the latest successful build available from ubports.

I experience this constanly in all apps. Anytime I flip between apps there is a chance the keyboard disappears in one. Nothing brings it back but closing the app and reopening it... very frustrating.

It seems to effect Messages and the Terminal apps the worst, but is certainly not restricted to just those apps.

Looks like Podbird has been rather unmaintained... there isn't much happening on the repository:

As for channels, you can switch under:

Most apps you'll find are webapps, which is to say that they run a confined browser instance for only a specific page. The ones you've listed above sound like these types of apps.

It would help to note which channel (stable/rc/devel) you've flashed on your phone, though I think webapps should generally be working everywhere still.
