@bearbobs sorry for the late reply its been busy with work...did you have to host the emulationstation?....because not sure how to host from within a clickable.....Iv seen the project before but have not really done anything with it....if it runs totally client side its do able....but if it needs hosting I don't think it can be done....the nes I'm working on is a heavily modded JavaScript emulator runs totally client side i added touch support fixed up the audio and added a lot of mapper support.....one big issue is the webview out of the box is....well lacking...if you load mario you will see black squares around the clouds and other sprites...not the emulator but the webview....

Hey, I had the same problem (Nexus 5) and I think I know what is the cause for this problem. It is the same as @Bash-Horatio specified. The device has two identifiers: Google Android [0100] LGE Nexus 5[0232] Now, whenever the device is on fastboot it is identified as Google Android [0100] but when it moves to Recovery mode it is identified as LGE Nexus 5[0232]. Seems like the script is loosing the connection to Google Android [0100] right when the device is going to recovery mode. So, under VirtualBox you should go to Machine -> settings -> Ports -> USB. Check to "ON" the "Enable USB Controller" and "USB 1.1 (OHCI) Controller". On the right, there are small blue usb icons to add/remove usb filters. You should add two filters for each device identifier (i.e. Google Android [0100] and LGE Nexus 5[0232]). How? Connect the device when it is NOT in fasboot and add a usb filter (should be LGE Nexus 5[0232]). After having this filter switch your device to fastboot and then add a new filter (should be Google Android [0100]). Once you have two usb filters you can run the ubports. For non-VirtualBox I would say that you should disconnect / connect the device when ever your phone switched to Recovery Mode so the script will recognize the device with its new identifier (LGE Nexus 5[0232]). for me it worked fine after few hours of frustration... Hope it will help. A'aron

Just thought I would mention that I was eventually able to test out Hangouts video calling though the browser, and everything works, so a big thanks to all. I suspect a reboot did the trick.

@hummlbach Just visited the link you suggested and was astounded by the by the complexity of the vision for the future of Gallery. It seems very ambitious and may take a great deal of effort to make it work reliably. I'm coming at this from my experience of using the Blackberry Playbook. The user interface is very smart and well thought out. The photo app is folders based which is very convenient for dealing with holiday and other event photos. I only resorted to the use of Albums on Ubuntu Touch as a workaround for the lack of a folders capability. I don't need flikr and face book etc. Maybe a good approach would be two separate apps: a simple photo app à la Blackberry for ordinary folk and a full blown gallery app for power users. This would have the advantage that the simple app could hopefully be realised as a subset of the pro version in the near term and then incrementally enhanced in the longer term.

Thanks for your help. I got help in the Fairphone forum. I had to start the app in Linux with the sudo command in the terminal app. I recommend to update the installation instructions for UBPorts.

@jérèm Right ok, Yes its Ubuntu touch first with SP Flash Tool. Please follow the instructions carefully, they are straight forward I did it with little tech know how but it can brick the phone. Then its UBports using the installer or which ever method works for you. Any issues just pop back. It is worth it when its done.

@pulsar33 So far, I have continued to use the method I initially described whereby I copy the files to be transferred into .local/share/wifitransfer.sil and then use wifitransfer to move them from the tablet to the laptop. I didn't have the courage to try your suggestions as I felt that this would be taking me out of my comfort zone and I would be risking screwing up my Ubports system. For example, I didn't recognize "filezilla". The file manager on my laptop is nautilus. I use my tablet as a daily driver as it's more convenient for web browsing and messaging etc than my laptop. I'm typing this reply on my Ubports M10 tablet. Anyway, many thanks for taking the trouble to reply. Your suggestions were appreciated but just a bit too scary for me to be prepared to experiment with. You mentioned samba. I use samba to move files between my laptop and my desktop PC. I've no idea if samba is installed on my tablet. However, I've noted that the UT file manager crashes whenever I select the network option. That's what originally prompted me to try wifitransfer.

@zacardec the codename of your phone is Arale. Clicking that as a "label" in "issues" I've found this list of bugs https://github.com/ubports/ubuntu-touch/labels/device%3A arale It seems the bug you're suffering isn't there. There's a French group in Telegram (https://t.me/UBports_French), maybe someone can help you there in your language.
