    The issue was me not having a screen lock passcode defined. Not sure if this is the best way to approach this, a settings page for editing user information (including name and root password) would be useful, that one could then opt out for the screenlock.

    You can also restart the keyboard with systemctl --user restart maliit-server.service I've never encountered this issue with Waydroid before. Just a wild guess, can you please check in Settings >> Language & Text and see if there's perhaps an external keyboard detected. I guess you can also see this if the keyboard icon appears in the top bar. I'm thinking maybe Waydroid introduces an external keyboard, for some reason, and onscreen keyboard is disabled when this is the case

    @ravachol I was able to get it working with Telenor. I had to manually enter APN servers. I have a Xiaomi Poco x3 nfc though, not a fairphone.

    I completely understand the huge impact. It is one of those things engineers call "should have thought about that earlier"... The positive note from this is that at least it has been brought up (again aparently), to be searchable in the forum for others who dwell upon investing in a Fairphone (because older USB3 devices are hard to find).

    @mango as far as I know Dekko2 is the only local client for UT. I don't use it but I tested it and with a few wrinkles (see issue) it seems to work. I don't see why Aol mail should be a problem since it seems to work with Imap/smtp.

    @ma the application was not open in the background as far as I know. I did not configure anything for the app with TweakUT, I left the default value. As far as I remember, when all of this was happening I was connected via wifi. Restart: I stop the phone every day. what I see looks very much like existing issues #179 and #183. BTW whatever your problem is (you never described it), you can turn on debugging after installing dekko, starting it and closing it before setting up ,your account, go to the config directory under ~/.config/dekko2.dekkoproject and turn on debugging according to this procedure.

    @deadthousand You clearly got it boot loader unlocked since you are running UT on it. If it is network locked, and you bought it, you can request to network unlock it. There is also a way to network unlock it by removing a file in the HAL, but that requires hacking skills. See xda-developers for that.

    I don't know the technical details of the app. You can probably log an issue and the dev could look into it. It would definitely be nice if it just works without timing it. It's a great app that probably doesn't exists in other systems

    That was the old UI and doesn't exists anymore. You can modify the code if you're familiar with QML/JS. Or you can download home screens app like Launcher Modular from the store but those acts like a normal app. You also can't disable the Launcher (left side bar) since it is integral to the overal design. May I know what you're trying to achieve and why the current Launcher and App drawer isn't enough?

    @gpatel-fr Yeah, I noticed that about the logs too. The phone "thinks" I sent a text, and then it "thinks" I sent another text, but in the middle the phone does "not think" that I tried sending a photo message. Which I did. There's actually three message attempts in that timeframe. The photo message send(MMS) just might as well have never happened at all. It's completely missing, my human activity is not there logged in that moment. So the text messaging app itself probably would have sent the photo over to my carrier but it just never knew I attempted to send the photo from the OS to begin with? I don't know for now but I'm going to have to do the hard reset and wipe it all and start over. For now I need this working. I haven't gotten any text messages in over a week now and and I know how to get it working again. It just is what it is. I need to think about how I will add this to the bug report.
