Hi Zaito, so sorry for delay, I have only just logged on in ages. I tested it on GS5 only - installed UT 24.04 because it was the only way to make phonecalls when 3g packed up. Nothing I did enabled Waydroid to persist. Meaning that if waydroid was closed for any reason, you couldn't reboot it without a completely fresh installation. This rectified in June with a new UT update. Everything works well in both UT and Waydroid with one exception; there is no clipboard on waydroid. Which means you cannot copy or paste anything in any circumstances. If I need waydroid copy facilities I have to use another phone running UT20.04. Hope all is well.

Yes we introduced a problem with a db migration here, you could switch to devel, and try if that works already.

Finally was able to reboot about 20 more times to get to the Android screen and install 2 of the Ubuntu Touch downloaded files. After 6 "Yikes" screens I was able to finally do an update of the parially installed system. Now works fine. This experience wasn't OS/2 but BSD might be easier!

@phoenixlandpirat said in What Is Required to Build a Video Chat Messenger from Scratch?: We had uMatricks that supported video and audio chat, but I think that used an old api or something? Idr but what I do know is that it doesnt work on modern devices, I think it never got updated to work on Ubuntu 16.04, but I wonder if some of that code is reusable? If I remember correctly it was because Canonical spend a lot of time creating a custom version of the browser that allowed doing this stuff on Mir. But this older browser was dropped at some point by Ubports as it was too much effort to maintain and qtwebengine promised to allow the same at some point on Wayland. Edit: This is really the main issue I think. Most messengers get away by using an embedded browser and WebRTC to do video chat. Doing something like that from scratch is really hard.

@willemhexspoor Hi, seeing this question now, I was recently faced with a similar problem, having to use a Azure Active Directory cloud login, where the admins had forced users to configure MFA. Turns out that there is a well hidden way to configure a TOTP code-generator (i.e. google-authenticator) for use as second factor with Azure AD. This was very frustrating, and I think that the MFA setup page uses dark patterns to prevent users from discovering that feature. There is not much information online. After some googling I just found this old article that seems to describe the method. When the Azure login page tells you "Your organization requires more information bla bla" and you go to the setup page where it displays the QR code for windows authenticator, there will be some very misleading seemingly unimportant link (like "configure app without notifications") which will switch the whole authentication scheme to TOTP. Of course it will never tell you that it is using TOTP and the name Google Authenticator will not appear anywhere. Still it is TOTP and will work correctly using any "standard" authenticator app.

@unrealb2 I'm pretty sure Sailfish doesn't have any push notifications support. Also, I think they have integrated automatic time updates from cell tower, rather than using NTP. Some work would need to be done to integrate this in Ubuntu Touch still, though.

@dnaod Glad to help Please note that Anbox is at a very experimental stage yet, lot of apps do simply not work (when not crash at opening...) A project is ongoing to improve this, there will be a brand new Anbox system that will be based on LineageOS. There are interesting information here: https://forums.ubports.com/topic/5907/open-ubuntu-touch-to-all-android-applications/31 https://gofund.me/acb31504

Hi @ubtouch-newbie , I'm also currently in the process of setting up a Volla phone under ubports. Just for clarity, can you describe the exact method by which you factory-reset your phone? Did you just do System Settings -> Reset or something more advanced? Asking just in case I encounter a similar problem. I've only verified working phone-calls and the wifi so far. Dave

@domubpkm OK, this time I removed the cache, config and data from both the older and latest apps, and immediately I could delete the old one from UT Tweak tool. I double checked if it was indeed gone, then made sure the remaining app worked and success in both cases. Thanks for all the suggestions, and also a shout-out to developers, maintainers and packagers of the funnest game on the platform!

@totalsonic Thanks. That is indeed the solution. Open the terminal app and type: $ cp /userdata/user-data/phablet/.local/share/uwp.costales/file.html /home/phablet/Downloads/file.html Then open the file by typing the new address of the file in the address bar of the Morph browser: file:///home/phablet/Downloads/file.html That's it.

@buzzears said in Communication apps for deaf users?: I have read android is open source, but I don't know anything about it otherwise, On the contrary Android is the epitome of Google, although there is the Android Open Source Project. This video explains it better than I can.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIPLATXJCpA
