Hello @GeekBone LTE works fine on compatible devices, which means that if your device has an LTE modem and your service provider has coverage, you can use the data connection leveraging 4G. Regarding VoLTE, it has been reported some successful experimentation on specific devices. At this stage, if you're not involved in the development of Ubuntu Touch, it is not possible for you to use VoLTE on any device. Plus, those results were made with 24.04 (Noble), so basically VoLTE won't be available for Focal and further less for Xenial. And there is also some further work to get done until VoLTE is ready and available on some selected devices. Progress has been done, encouraging work is still in motion, but it is not ready yet. VoLTE is a feature that won't be available on all devices, so it will probably appear on the device page and it will fall on the maintainer(s) of a port to enable it. Currently there is hope that the work done can be more or less replicated on other devices sharing similar SoC, but it needs to be proven as sometimes manufacturer do strange things when logic dictates they should have done things the same way... I hope this clarifies things a little and also hope I didn't betray the amazing work done/in progress to bring VoLTE to our community.

@necktwi I don't know if it works with your smartphone, but it's possible with UT Tweak Tools : system / adb parameters.

@Br1 Yes, i confirm, dns changer is ok with ota-5. I tested that just after the update to OTA-5.

@FC8E Difficult to say without further info: what device are you using? what version of UT (xenial/focal)? how did you install your private cloud disk service? how did you configure IPv6?

@pepijndevos I think with "Gallium" you mean Halium, which is indeed an abstraction layer between the android hardware drivers (blobs), not just LineageOS, and a normal Linux distro. Although I don't know much about Sailfish OS, their stack seems close to ours, so you should be able to use most of their kernel code. It wouldn't be as simple as flashing a generic system image. The rootfs is supposed to be generic, but from my experience every device needs different tweaks (so you can't just flash the rootfs), that is why the overlay method exists, which all new ports use. You can try adapting the kernel sources to Ubuntu Touch, and then the rootfs probably from scratch. I couldn't find any port source code from Sailfish OS, as Ubuntu Touch has, which is of course necessary.

@mihael Logic would point to the Whatsapp side if another webapp was able to open images directly in gallery.

Hey @Pastor-David-R, just wanted to say, really cool to hear you are looking at running UT in place of android! Im similar, as im a lover of linux generally and use linux desktop OSs for work and life on my home systems. About 5 years ago i felt the same as you have said now and had similar questions to what you asking. I just wanted to say that i have been very happily using and loving UT as my daily phone OS since 5 years ago and similar to you, while i have always been 'techy', i did not know much about phone stuff back then but now im here it actaully is really easy to get a phone setup with UT, once you've picked one that suits you from the supported devices @arubislander linked. Just to put my bit out, like @Keneda said, fairphone are really cool but for me were too pricey (from my experience), so i just wanted to suggest Oneplus Nord N10 also, as it is a pretty good phone, you can find them fairly cheap (from my experience) and they run UT really stable (also from my experience).
