    There's a way to create custom themes in the toolkit but I never got it working. Maybe someone can try it and use your proposed themes?

    @josele13 said in App Design Concept: In conclusion, I propose my design to be added to the Ubuntu touch ones, so that the developers can put the control buttons on the left side as Unity does, if they want. Developers can already put multiple action slots on the left of the PageHeader if they wish: PageHeader { leadingActionBar.numberOfSlots: 2 leadingActionBar.actions: [ Action { }, Action { } ] }

    Hi @mymike I'm so sorry for the late reply! Just to let you know what's going on: As Carlo wrote in the PR, the icon stuff is on pause because it's a burning hot topic atm. and there's many things to consider. More info about the heated discussion can be found here, but I can try to boil it down for you: Gnome upstream wants us to ship their new icons Not to belittle Gnomes work, but we think the suru icons looks better Upstream icons are optimized to scale best at 32px. The dock in Ubuntu is 48px We would like to ship only suru icons but Snaps will keep their original cross distro icon If we want suru icons, it will be a HUGE task We are not icon designers - we simply tried to pick up the pieces to move the project along We (the Yaru team) do not make the final call, Canonical will So in short, we might go all suru or full upstream or we might do a mix - we don't know atm. Anyway, the icon work is paused for now. It was bad timing of me, to reach out to you - sorry!

    @arubislander Thanks for verifying that. So it looks like this issue with the slide-in animation is something that's just disabled on tablets in general (and probably on PC config as well).

    Sadly the UITK hasn't been maintained for...I think years? and there's no current plan to maintain it. But I agree, Dekko does have many good things that should be implemented in UITK. Anyway, QQC2 has that page transition animation so apps that use it has it.

    @hummlbach Is it something you could help us test with? Do you have special needs regarding the colors?

    What will provide this "HUD" exactly? Will it function when running these apps on other platforms, or under other environments? Menu export over D-Bus, mainly, or anything exported over D-Bus, plus any external scripts or programs relevant to the app. A robust API (like KDE's DWD) would of course not be supported by most applications, but neither is any particular CSD implementation, and that's OK. But at least applications with different tool-kits could use such an API, unlike Gnome CSD which is just for Gnome apps. Will it function when running these apps on other platforms, or under other environments? Yes, HUD implementations are completely independent of the WM under X and relatively independent under Wayland. Gnome menu-less CSDs aren't supported on KDE, not to mention other operating systems. What problem is it actually solving? Same problems Gnome's HIG is solving, and many more. The "more" includes consistency, flexibility, discovery etc. I think I may need to clarify the benefits a little better, but I think it ultimately boils down to some people thinking it would be valuable and other people thinking it's not worth it.

    is there a way to have in the your app section (the middle) something like a unified scope back in the old topic : https://forums.ubports.com/topic/568/the-big-scope-question/8 I proposed to keep scope but to separate the content producer from scope rendering Developpers add something like dispatcher in their manifest & return a json when called (optional arguments ?) Home screen let filters and draw those jsons data.

    well or providing a pull/merge request... You could look at the examples of the near past and learn from them how to do it... if you're interested in trying I can post a links to the changes made in old telegram app or the clock for example (when I'm back at the pc)...

    @giemme Sorry, that's not quite what I meant. It doesn't matter if you can define custom categories or if they're preset. What I mean is, relationships between humans are more organic. To use the example in your mock-up graphic to make the point: I work with friends, and sometimes do other categorical things with those same people. If one sends me a message, there is no way for the phone to know if it's work related, friend related, or sport related, or perhaps something else entirely. So trying to group notifications into such categories will fail. So it will always feel weird to try and split relationships categorically as such, when they are so organic. It seems like you're trying to solve a very specific problem that you might be having, but I don't think it scales well to general usage.
