Thank you for appreciating the OS and congrats on your new device or toy Ubuntu Touch is very functional however, it has been running on android-based devices for many years and the Pinephone is quite different in terms of hardware so there are still many things that normally work in UT but not yet on the pinephone. So we hope you have patience and have a good time during the process . Also, I think it's also good to try out other distros using the sd card. That's the beauty of the Pinephone

I think in one of the previous Q&A it was discussed what to do with the money raised through the PinePhone campaign. It certainly will not be used to employ someone, but they mentioned that some freelancers could be paid from it. Anyone has an update on that?

@cliffcoggin If you know people who want to talk to you, ask them to install Signal Messenger https://www.signal.org/ available for all platforms Android, Apple, Microsoft, Linux... You should use Axolotl then - so you can chat with your people. I hope Axolotl will get some love in near future - Pinephone is out :beaming_face_with_smiling_eyes:

@poVoq Ok, you'll have to be more specific about the burden, because I cannot fathom what they can be. And I totally agree that everyone is welcome to contribute with their background and personal interest so we can achieve great things.

Indeed, it is not a German dialect, but it is most definitely a Germanic language, along with Frisian, English, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and of course German. If I missed a few, to the people who feel slighted, please accept my apologies.

I haven't tried to run desktop applications from Libertine, so have no experience here. For command line apps libertine-container-manager exec and libertine-launch commands works for me. Have you tried running ubuntu-app-launch <CONTAINER_ID>_<desktop_file_name>_0.0 command (from the docs)?

It should help with the stability for sure. (I should add that stability has already taken great leaps and bounds forward in the few weeks I have been testing my BH; I can barely imaging how it must have progressed since the time when the BH shipped. )

Updated the OP with links to the postmarket versions. Question for @PINE64 : right now (2020-07-15 16:11 UTC), both versions say the packing contents include "USB-C Docking Bar – 2x USB Type A ports, digital video port, and 10/100Mbps Ethernet port" Does this mean that the board in both versions is 1.2a? (Apologies if I've missed the monthly update. Right now all Pine64 sites seem to be deluged with traffic. ) Edit: from reading the Pine64 July update, it seems that both versions of the phone have the 1.2a board with the USB fix (hurrah!), but only the 3GB/32GB Convergence Package has the Docking Bar. Please correct me if I'm wrong about that. Edit 2: the page in the store is now correct.

@michelbdec Please be more precise. Ubuntu Touch is NOT Ubuntu. Apps are using .click files. There's no Ubuntu software in Ubuntu Touch, but an open store: https://open-store.io/ in which you'll find "Dekko 2", which is currently the only email client available for Ubuntu Touch. (and works pretty well) Btw, you can install some other Linux software using a Libertine container, but they might not work as expected, especially since they aren't design for a smartphone screen.

I think this would be a really good idea to make subforums. Also from a contributor perspective. I cannot follow a thousand-message-thread where "everything" is discussed (which also applies to almost all our telegram channels). But I have no problem scanning the new thread titles and jumping into those threads where I might be able to contribute (or am interested in the outcome myself)
