@JPC The problem is still unsolved. But I hope I have managed to provide the developer with all the necessary information now, though I’m not very experienced in working with adb shell and things. Maybe you could upload your logcat.txt as well: https://github.com/waydroid/waydroid/issues/1988

@arubislander For sure! There is no foolproof solution when running applications that are sensitive to device security outside of their intended environment, especially not in an emulated environment! (Having alternative operating systems and/or backup phones ready to go is always a plus)

@NoodleCollie, do you have any information as to whether VoLTE is working after you got done installing ubuntu-touch on your 1+n10-5g? I'm asking because the official info on the this topic seems a liitle ambiguous...

@fair OSK will be disabled by default when an external keyboard is detectedm You can only force enable the OSK in this case but you can't force disable it.

@chaospredictor said in venv installation: @lduboeuf I'm building some python web app with local server. I would like it to be deployed on Ubuntu touch. And now, I just tried to run it by installing required python frameworks. i don't know if it is possible to embed a custom python version within your click package, also running a web app server will probably need unrestricted access policy, will be hard to share it on open store later. But someone with better knowledge need to answer

@iz_zi I guess you downgraded your Fairphone 5 from 14 to 13 for installing UT. Sad you didn't get the info before but : You MUST let bootloader unlocked for being able to install AND run Ubuntu Touch on most devices (I think only volla devices sold preinstalled with UT have bootloader locked and can run like that). When you downgrade Android version on recent android devices like FP5, YOU MUST NOT relock bootloader, because of the "anti rollback protection" google imposed on recent devices specifications. There is a warning for that particular case ("downgrading", which can be on the same android version, because most important here is the security patch date) on the Fairphone website downgrade/manual install tutorial. Sadly your only way now is to contact FairPhone support.

@RJDan Nevertheless it is probably an unintended consequence of something you might have tried. Because out of the box the Downloads and Music folders are proper folders and not symplinks.

@arubislander Thanks a lot for this tip. I have no familiarity with Android but wondered if that might be the case. Good to know!

@Eric-H Interesting! Even the unblocked photo isn't so bad to my eye, but I see the difference. Thanks for pointing me to that! Very helpful to know the details before spending hundreds on one phone or another. Thank you!

@MrT10001 Yeah, that didn't solve the issue. But like I said: upgrading to OTA-10 did. And to 24.04 too, btw.

@RJDan if you are on the stable.update channel that gets updates around 3 to 4 times a year. If you are on RC there should be an update becoming available soon for you, if it hasn't already. If you are on devel, then updates come fast and frequently (once or twice a day)

Hi everyone , Thanks for a all contributors and for answering questions. From my understanding, in an encrypted device, the phone is really secure after turning it off and before the first decryption/unlocking (BFU), after the device is first unlocked/decrypted (AFU) it is not as secure even if it is locked again because the encryption keys are stored in RAM. For extra security, would it be possible and hard to implement an option in the encryption settings to make the phone like in BFU every time the phone is locked ? Even if it takes longer to unlock each time of course

@BaShMu it's an old way of porting devices. Use the tutorial I linked
