@gpatel-fr It's really as simple as, if set to English (Canada): Contact: +15145555555 will reliably be found by prediction once I type +151 Contact 15145554444 will not be found no matter what I type Contact (514)555333 will not be found no matter what I type Other contact formats (514) 555-5555, similarly won't be found. Nothing without the initial +. Anyhow, I'm quite happy about the T9! Many thanks to you for making me aware of it, and for your help in diagnosing things. And many thanks to Lionel for creating the function! My extensive (long-winded) testing was to try to be helpful, but I'm quite satisfied with how things function at present. If the phone number predictions get improved for databases as mangled as mine, and various weird international standards, all the better! But sadly, I don't think I'm the person who will succeed with that.

@Voorstad maybe. If MeshCore had a Rust library, it would be fairly easy (famous last words) to integrate into the app I am making for Meshtastic. But it appears there's only a C++ library, and I'm not touching that with a 100 foot pole. As for MeshCore vs Meshtastic, I'm aware there seems to be some back and forth about it on the LoRa bands in the Netherlands (where I am currently based...). But for now, the app will only be supporting Meshtastic, unfortunately!

@bekun Yeah that's the ideal functionality. On Android, that works fine, at least on Samsung phones. In UT, all touchscreens are mapped to the built-in display. I was talking about on the desktops. Gnome have the same issue while KDE Plasma handles it fine.

@erikcht I agree the offerings in this space are dire and it would be nice to see something competitive develop in the open source world. However, there is almost no overlap between Ubuntu TV and UBPorts. Some of the design ideas are the same, but the software stack is completely different from Ubuntu Touch and the codebase of Ubuntu TV is far too dated to use for rebooting the project. The only thing in the UBports portfolio that could be useful is Lomiri, but I suspect that would be overkill: Something simpler (like Ubuntu Frame) is probably enough. The real problem though is that there is too much "lock in" to proprietary solutions in this market. On the open source side, probably the best project to look at is Kodi.

3600 seconds limit for edits? Really?!? Anyway, another attempt on a Mint Debian Edition computer instead of my usual minimal Devuan install gets further along. Hopefully it's ready within an hour so I can update my post. EDIT: flashing worked fine, also VoLTE is active now, which is nice.

The issue has been found. It will fix for new comers and those who upgrade to 24.04. But unfortubatly it will not fix if user already hit it. Thanks for your feedbacks

@GooglyBear I have two Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro phones and I transfer files from one to the other. For the SD card, I used the external storage app in the panel. ext4 is usable but cannot be formatted via this app. Without sudo,,you won't access to the waydroid folder (if you use it).

@messayisto my phone has an IPv4 address and can access the store just fine - if the store was not compatible with IPv4 they would have heard of it as open-store.io does not even have an IPv6 address. Maybe it's a problem with your phone provider, configuration of a CGN or network routing, the full path to the destination will usually not be controlled by them, these problems can't be checked locally. If you can't connect at all with a browser, maybe they'd be interested enough to investigate; use Firefox since Morph will not be known to them.

@Gelukkig said in Apps I really would love: @projectmoon Thanks, I have installed all the apps you mention. For Waydroid I still need a Google account and the purpose is to get rid of Google and Apple accounts The default image of Waydroid does not have Play Services or anything else. As others have said, you can download F-Droid then use that to install Aurora Store, and from there, install apps that are on the Play Store. But as for bluetooth, this will not work in Waydroid. It is a limitation of Waydroid itself.
