@hlbkv gnome software can handle debs and flatpaks (and on Ubuntu also snaps I think). The app itself is a deb, so it is not surprising that it can be installed. The apps that end up being able to be installed with it are probably also debs.

Just an update, I gave up on trying the KDEConnect workaround. I did some deep investigation on resolving the issue within Waydroid itself, and documented my progress. It's definitely a feature-request in Waydroid. https://github.com/waydroid/waydroid/issues/211 I haven't done any more work on it for a while, since my last post on github. There are a few libs being used in Waydroid, which I linked to, which have sparse documentation. I don't have deep enough knowledge of these languages and platforms to be able to fix this easily - not to mention android's workflow for builds. Wasn't able to do a build of LineageOS on my PC; some incompatibility with package versions. It'd be nice to resolve this for everybody who uses Waydroid, but IRL is taking priority for now.

@rotersand that's a known issue. Please, search in the issue tracker (*) before posting any one liner without any kind of information. Thank you. (*) https://github.com/ubports/ubuntu-touch/issues

Ah! Thanks for the wonderfully prompt reply @advocatux and others - always some small comfort to know that you're not alone in these situations. I just assumed that the issue was because @mariogrip and any other Norwegian developers involved had pushed the update through in a hurry so as to get out and celebrate a glorious Constitution Day, that one day a year where the sun absolutely has to shine in Bergen - by law And on that note, I wouldn't expect anything to happen on the Norwegian side for a couple of days now

By the way magic-device-tool was not working because the link for the recovery image was not correct. @ll yeah I know, that's why I said "if you feel adventurous" and "you can play with MDT". What I mean is there's some ways to do that, for example looking at the code of MDT you can see it tries to download the recovery image from http://mdt-files.com/downloads/magic-device-tool/recoverys/recovery-arale.img which doesn't exist anymore so you can replace it with http://cdimage.ubports.com/devices/recovery-arale.img (probably that's the one you need BUT I really don't know because you're trying to do some archaeological thing). I think you get the idea, you can customize your own MDT or see what that script does and type the commands (pointing to the right server) in your CLI. Of course, the recommended way to get the best results is to do this using Ubuntu 16.04 with all the needed tools installed (like phablet-tools). Edit: the legacy channel for your device is still online as you can see here http://system-image.ubports.com/ubports-touch/legacy/arale/

@flohack said in The last word I typed is always added into the next box when I click on it: We dont reopen this, since it was applied to the master branch and therefore will land only in 16.04 OTA-4. Ah, now I get it. Sorry

@max-headroom you should get an official factory image for your Nexus 5 https://developers.google.com/android/images#hammerhead and flash it using the instructions at the beginning of that page (https://developers.google.com/android/images) or following one of the many tutorials about it that you can find using your favorite search engine.

Updating with ubports installer coming from lineage worked seamlessly on my nexus 4. (The automatic device detection was a bit tricky, but i think this hasn't to do anything with lineage.)

Hi @Max-Headroom - I'm sure there'll be someone around who's more qualified than I am to help! I run an N5 too. The battery does seem to drain quite quickly, depending on how aggressively the phone is being used. As for storage: you must have put a lot of files on your phone!

So pleased to hear that UT Tweak Tool worked, @dtarrant. I'm sorry that you've run into another problem though.

try the original cable or a new high quality cable and also switch over to Ubuntu. I had many problems installing on my nexus 5 using windows 10, and 7. switch to Ubuntu and I was done in about 15 minutes.

I've found out that I can only pair my pro5 to a few cars not many. But if you are in the bluetooth menu it should give you the code to pair it's for me that the connection fails.

@pavejon have you enabled the "less secure apps" option in your google settings? https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/6010255?hl=en or if you use two factor authentication you can get an app specific password instead and use that to authenticate.
