@Alain This featute isn't in UT/Lomiri yet. Simplest way is to make something like a home screen app and there are some that exists already like Launcher Modular. Not sure they have app groups though. You can contribute to them if you don't want to make your own. However, they obviously act like a normal app. Best you can do is pin it to the Launcher for easy access. Or you can contribute to Lomiri and implement it in the App drawer which definitely needs some love There's even a bounty for it so there's money to get

I've updated the "Mount_WaydroidHome.sh" script, so the WaydroidHome folder is writable from Ubuntu Touch (without using sudo): #!/bin/bash ## Set-up commands #mkdir ~/WaydroidHome #chmod 755 ~/WaydroidHome #sudo chmod 777 ~/.local/share/waydroid/data/media/0 ## Bind mount Waydroid's home folder if it's not already mounted, and then ensure it (and all sub-folders) stay read/write-able by the Ubuntu Touch user set -e /usr/bin/findmnt -rno SOURCE,TARGET /home/phablet/WaydroidHome >/dev/null || /usr/bin/mount --bind /home/phablet/.local/share/waydroid/data/media/0 /home/phablet/WaydroidHome while /usr/bin/true; do /usr/bin/sleep 5 if [[ ! "$(/usr/bin/stat -c "%a" /home/phablet/WaydroidHome)" == *7 ]]; then /usr/bin/find /home/phablet/WaydroidHome -type d ! -perm -o+rwx -print0 | /usr/bin/xargs -0 -I {} /usr/bin/chmod o+rwx '{}' fi done WARNING: The above scripts work for me, but I haven't tested it thoroughly, or even for that long, and it may contain security flaws. It is (as I said before) just a 'quick hack'. In the spirit of open source, I hope other people will provide improvements to it.

Well "sudo reboot" works, but it prompts me for the password. I tried adding the job to sudo's crontab, but that doesn't work. The solution I described in post 1 works on a desktop ubuntu. After doing what I described, "sudo reboot" reboots the machine without prompting for password. Regards Grisen

@mihael Ok. For some reason other governors aren't compiled in to the kernel then. I just checked my N4 and it has all governor options in kernel.

@lakota Having checked everything again, silly error from me SP Flash Tool not suitable for 32 bit system. So guessing the same for ubports installer. With support from MDT for ubports stopping is there an installer that will work?, even my windows is 32 bit. Scopes also no longer available. Still battery life good 24 hrs so far with little use to 32%. So will make the most if for as long as possible. Only little issues wifi drops out occasionally and takes a while to reconnect. update: Ubports Installer now on my Asus T100(32 bit) so no need to borrow windows laptop next time.

Too good to be true. After five days, it lost the connection again, and as usual it couldn't automatically reconnect. I looked at my script output, and I noticed that when there's no 4G connection, it doesn't run the cron job every five minutes. So somehow it's reversed - it's the baseband chip that keeps the phone awake. I'll try with just 3G - maybe that'll work. Regards Grisen

@guru ...and great! I wish I could use it as well as my daily phone. I do not like to repeat myself so please just read what I have written above. I've nowhere written that there is no possibility to use this OS on a daily phone isn't it? Only I stated above and gave my arguments to this it is not suitable for me as a main OS on daily phone. Wish You all the best!

@tupp Thanks! I found the files and tried to execute the text2ngram commands to append the new .txt files I wanted, but with nol luck. The phone adb shell told me that i couldn't execute text2ngram because I needed to install presage... But... presage is already installed on both the computer and on the device. Ugh... I don't know.

@Flohack I tried it with go-mtpfs, and I couldn't make it work unless I was root. Not sure which is better: adb or go-mtps? Thanks!

Thanks, the installation of the libertine-scope also made my desktop apps visible. I can launch Gedit, for example. However, I cannot launch LibreOffice. In fact, I see the LibreOffice splash screen, but then there is following error message: "The application cannot be started. [context = "user"] caught unexpected com.sun.star.ucb.ContentCreationException: Cannot create folder (invalid path):" Do you have any idea how I can fix that? Thanks in advance.

Hello, I had the same problem, but for me the repair was working: https://plus.google.com/101809150361009913017/posts/DmdQHGtewYB You could try to measure the loudspeaker with a multimeter, what is the resistance? Maybe its just broken? BR

@larshenric Hi, do You still use Nexus 4 with Ubuntu Touch? How is it? I installed it 3 day ago and I can see that it is quite nice system with some of critical "but"s: It takes too long for some even basing apps to open/load (for example app Phone loads for up to 4 sec.); in the phone with 2GB of RAM and quad core processor it is unacceptable, lack of some options which are available in android and other operating systems (ex. Sailfish, Firefox), for ex. option show/hide my number on outgoing calls, and many many other of course battery life is absolutely not enough, it lasts in half a day with not a lot of use (a couple of calls, couple of messages and set some of phone options). Have You found any tips/tricks to expand a battery life? What are Your general impressions?

Same for me too on both my Aquaris E4.5s but I am only on r3 and it occurred only after a recent update, presumably to r3. I've tried switching to the RC channel and the development channel and the problem is still present.
