@hlbkv gnome software can handle debs and flatpaks (and on Ubuntu also snaps I think). The app itself is a deb, so it is not surprising that it can be installed. The apps that end up being able to be installed with it are probably also debs.

Just an update, I gave up on trying the KDEConnect workaround. I did some deep investigation on resolving the issue within Waydroid itself, and documented my progress. It's definitely a feature-request in Waydroid. https://github.com/waydroid/waydroid/issues/211 I haven't done any more work on it for a while, since my last post on github. There are a few libs being used in Waydroid, which I linked to, which have sparse documentation. I don't have deep enough knowledge of these languages and platforms to be able to fix this easily - not to mention android's workflow for builds. Wasn't able to do a build of LineageOS on my PC; some incompatibility with package versions. It'd be nice to resolve this for everybody who uses Waydroid, but IRL is taking priority for now.

I was going to say that via Ubuntu may be better. I ported my E5 using Ubuntu and the magic-device-tool and there was no issues at all. To tell you the truth, I was pleasantly surprised at how much of a smooth process it was. A great little terminal tool.

@Flohack That's what suggested him initially as well, altough he wrote that he does not want to do that. So I try to as well suggest on how to achieve his goal.

Thanks, but since I was root, the permission issue wasn't it. Turns out there's some notion of RGB lock in the LED driver for the Nexus 5. To make the LED's do things you have to bracket your changes with writing 0 to rgb_start, then make changes, then when you write 1 to rgb_start you'll see them. I now have a nice blinking red LED, which will be quite handy for visual indication of new notification! (Asiek777, thanks for verifying that it wasn't a hardware problem on my end.)

Welcome to the forum! Before flashing your device, please make sure that you can live with the issues that you see here. They are being fixed by the developer working on the Nexus 4, but you should be aware of them before flashing. You will need to reflash your phone in order to update to our builds. Please ensure that you back up your data before continuing. There are instructions for backing up and restoring your data on this wiki page. After you've finished that, follow the instructions on the device page to flash Ubuntu Touch.

@ernest Thanks for your answer. It does not look very serious from the list, but also i do not understand issue #63. What does actually "Calls and network mobile information does not work" mean? I also found that issue #71 is marked as a duplicate, so is it the case that it is fine except that you can't hear when it rings and you'll not be able to connect to mobile network? Will i get all release candidate updates for this device by installing the 15.04/rc channel?

@Marathon2422 I already read from a lot of people, that they having the same problem. I also tried to contact BQ and they answer me: ================================= try this one: https://devices.ubports.com/#/frieza With your WiFi, erase the search and turn of your router. Afterwards search again. Change the channels and WPS. Try to reset the tablet, that will help most of the time. ================================= I wrote back, that this is not the problem, but no response anymore.

Got the answer via the Telegram group. It's the desktop root password it's looking for. Doh! I kept thinking it was a password for the phone it needed.
