@danqo6 Oh, I see... then it might be a useragent thing https://stackoverflow.com/questions/28090737/not-acceptable-an-appropriate-representation-of-the-requested-resource-could-no If that's it, qml http request will ignore the user agent. It could be done with a SingleDownload element... mmmm

@jimmypesto I'll do some testing on the connection thing, I pretty much have only done testing on WiFi so I didn't catch any issues around lost connections yet. Sounds like it might also be helpful to include a reset button of sorts, to clear the db when the session gets lost to it can be redone. I'll also take a closer look at that UI bug, seems odd that would happen.

I'm really quite upset with the turn this thread took, so I'm locking it now. The reason Rodney even became aware of this thread is because I complained about the tone it had taken in its last few posts. I get (probably unnecessarily, it's a personal failure) upset when people suggest that "thing x should be critical because it affects me". I also get upset about answering questions about specific bugs in the Q&A. Before long, the sessions become long talks about how Bluetooth is in a bad state because of greater market reasons, or how Libertine (which we acknowledge is experimental, but we put in the image for exactly that reason) isn't working in exactly the way someone wants. More than that, we don't have a full understanding of why some bugs occur so we end up speculating for too long in front of the audience. It's not fun for the viewers and it's certainly not fun for the team. As for whether things are a priority or not, we've put forward our major ideas for the next few releases in the milestones. I grant you that they aren't filled with specific bugs, but they say the "big things" we're working on. The reasoning for Bluetooth being in a poor state is not for lack of trying or for lack of impact. We know that Bluetooth is an important function of a smartphone. However, it is an unreliable (at best) protocol with tons of vendor-specific "gotcha!"s and weirdness. It's likely that fixing a bug with one device by tweaking a timing or changing a message will actually break another device. Personally, this bums me out. I love to use Bluetooth car kits and other gadgets. Not having them with UT is unfortunate. Even the big players have trouble with Bluetooth. Look at the one-star reviews for any Bluetooth car kit and you'll find lots which say "this worked with iOS 10 but not 11" or "my Android updated and now this broke, what a piece of crap". These are companies who can devote entire teams to the protocol and, honestly, it's still terrible. We may have paid developers, but this is still an open source community and our team is still extremely small. There's a huge amount of power in the "scratching an itch" factor. Bugs are fixed most completely when an interested developer picks them up and pulls them through to completion. Let me be very clear: I'm not trying to attack anyone with this message. If you feel that I am, PM me and let me know so I can edit any ambiguity out. I'm also not saying that Bluetooth is not important, rather that it is an undue amount of effort for little forward movement. In more concrete terms, we could spend the time to fix Bluetooth for one gadget or tackle OTA-5. If you'd like to solicit feedback about a specific Bluetooth device, please open another thread in the Support section. If you want to discuss anything I've said in this message, opening a thread in General is probably the best course of action. Opening megathreads like this is not conducive to good discussion in this forum software.

@doniks many thanks for this, on a mako the persist directory existed but the .macaddr file didn't. I created the file with a random mac and now the phone reconnects to wifi after a reboot.

@flohack said in [Porting] Call for testers: @klh battery indicator is fine -the problem is the middleware below. Android kernels report stupid batteries to upowerd, and from there Ubuntu Touch has approx 4 different ways to determine battery status. This work is more complicated than you would think and a systematic problem that nobody saw since in Android 5.1 and 7.1 it was quite okay ish still. Turns out it wasn't so hard, at least for the Pixel 2 XL (hopefully for all others too, but can't say for sure since I only have this one to test): https://github.com/ubports/indicator-power/pull/60

Hi @unaegeli, thanks for your feedback. This forum thread was for OTA-16. OTA-17 is out now, and it sounds like you might need to seek help from the app's developer rather than from me. You can find support information for most Ubuntu Touch apps on their OpenStore page: https://open-store.io/app/me.fredl.ghostcloud Thanks again for your feedback. Since OTA-16 is long out, I'm going to lock this thread.

@Keneda missed that thanks, @googlybear well still nothing I can do about it directly. though I am implementing the xdg-desktop-portal standard into lomiri atm, so this may indirectly help you because there are a bunch of xdg bitwarden apps.

Just wanted to share that I had some battery issues (draining too fast, often draining the entire battery within 1 day) with a OnePlus Nord N10 5g. The phone I purchased was an old refurbished one and I'm not sure if the battery was refreshed or if it was the original battery. Nonetheless, my battery issues have seemed to resolved and thought I'd share. It may help others or not. So, take it or leave it. By default, the screen brightness was quite high (to the far right on the slider) and I can't recall if "Adjust automatically" was enabled or not. I manually selected the screen brightness to the lowest level I could tolerate without feeling like I couldn't see the screen. Surprisingly for me, I can move the slider almost all the way to the left. I also unchecked the "Adjust automatically". So, now the screen brightness is using the minimal battery. (I believe this was the biggest gain for me). Furthermore, I am fairly conscious to disable WiFi unless I am actively using it for internet access. That is all I did and now the battery lasts a couple days without charging (vs completely drain in 1 day) and does not drain much at all. One last thing I am mindful of is to only use the charging cable that came with the device. I think the fast chargers that are more modern may easily cycle/overcharge older batteries and reduce the battery's long term life. With all batteries, there is a limited number of charging cycles and you'll notice that each 100% full charge may not last as long as when it was brand new. Overcharging (while at 100%) and/or letting the battery drain completely to 0% may reduce the life of the battery a bit. So, being mindful to unplug when at 100% and to start charging before it gets too low may help in maximizing its life. Hope this helps. Good luck maximizing your device's battery life!

Somehow I interpreted the phone wasn't working well, but you clearly stated that it's just not a daily driver unless WiFi calling or native VOIP. (neither of which I've used... my requirements are just for the working phone which it has done well thus far). Thanks and sorry for my confusion. Hope you find a way to meet your requirements!

@lduboeuf Thanks for your new project. Well personally, in normal use, I generally completely turn off cellular data and activate it when necessary. I don't know how difficult it can be to develop, but I imagine an option that automatically turns on cellular data in case of one or more open apps or web-apps using it, and automatically turns off cellular data when apps or web-apps that used cellular data are all closed...

[image: 1777564258523-screenshot20260430_155713518.png] First day i see voLTE. . I have never see this in any chanel before with focal or noble. I'm on 24.04-1.3 RC 2 since some days. No new work has been made by voLTE UT developers. So Bouygues made probably something to make is voLTE more compatible with some smartphones.
